Zooming

This must have been asked before but I cannot find anything about it here.

When I 'zoom in' in vc cockpit view the outside world 'zooms in' by the same amount.

In my real world Cherokee when I lean forward to check something, I get closer to the panel but the rest of the world stays the same.

Is it my imagination, but was it like this in FS2004 and FSX? Perhaps it's the virtual cockpit. Before P3D I mostly flew in 2D cockpits.

Someone please put my mind at rest. Thanks!

P.S. Running P3Dv3 in W10 x64

SOLVED Found it! Adjust the eyepoint.

That's normal, and yes it was that way in FS9 and FSX. Think of the view you are using as a camera, so if you zoom in you zoom everything, not just the cockpit -- it's not leaning forward. You CAN lean forward and back and sideways, even sit up straighter in your seat if you're using something such as TrackIR, but not with the default "camera" system.
