FS9 doesn't recognize an aircraft that I have had for years

I have checked carefully for any obvious errors without effect. FS9 doesn't see the aircraft and returns a failure of aircraft initialization. Any help appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Michael,

If you have selected "Previous Flight" as your default flight for start up, then you will get this message as the sim boots when you have altered the aircraft you were last flying at shutdown .... either removed the texture file because you didn't like it or renamed anything in the cfg file for that aircraft.

Put things back like they were and shutdown next time with a different aircraft, you can make those changes then with no effect on initialization.

THAT I DO NOT believe. FDE's caused initialization error? Maybe a typo in cfg. But that would not be a 'flight model (FDE)' type problem. Apples and Oranges son.

In any flyable aircraft .air file, try changing Aircraft Type=0 to Aircraft Type=2 and see if it still shows up in your Select Aircraft screen. Type=2 is the flag for AI aircraft which won't be displayed in the Select Aircraft screen.
