SODE making the FSX a pain in the neck!

Horacios

Recommended Posts

Hi, I got a problem with SODE, now a lot of scenerys work with SODE, Ok, no problem there, the problem begin when I install the SODE in my FSX, my Simulator was working perfect, after the SODE was install, I try to start the simulator and out of the blue I get a message like this:

"There are multiple objects with the same title name. They must have unique title names.

TBM1c FT3

Sim Objects\Misc\TBM_Avenger_Ghost"

and when I try to close this message, another message in the same style appears with another airplane name, and if I want to close this message again, there comes the next one!, and so on with the whole collection of airplanes that I have in my simulator, you can understand that this is making me crazy.

This happends only when I install the SODE in my FSX, my problem is that I have a lot of scenerys that need SODE to work properly, if I don't use SODE, the scenery works but I miss a lot of things in it, like roofs of hangers , missing textures, etc, is really not good, and my frustration grows and grows!!

If someone can help, please I'm all ears!!

You have several aircraft you just installed with the same Title. Go into your Acft.cfg and open up the directory where the new aircraft are at. As you scroll through each one, you will notice they have the same text in the title. What I do is just put a number at the end of each duplicate title so that it's now unique. Don't forget to save when your done!

Hi Sentry_Fivezero,

Thanks for your message, I went to the Flightsimulator, and I look at the SimObjects, there I found the Airplanes, I open the Airplanes and took a look at every one of them, please take a look at the next part of my mail,, here is a sample of how the airplanes in my simulator look like:

If you look carefully, you wil see that every one of the titles are diferent(they have a letter added to everyone of them(title=JF_Tiger Motha/b/c/d/enz.) so can you explain to me why I get the message over the title that has to be diferent , the title IS DIFERENT!! tell me what I'm doing wrong! and I tell ya I was long time busy checking the entire collections of aircrafts, and I have a lot!!

Waiting for an answer from you, I really feel jealous because your job in the Air Force

(btw, I have a very nice Sentry E-3 from CS, really nice made model!)

(sorry for my bad english!)

Thanks

Just curious.....was the Tiger Moth one of the aircraft that Sim Object Display Engine showed as having multiple same titles? Since you listed the TBM Avenger in your first post, that would be the interesting one to show all of the [fltsim.xx].

The next interesting thing to try is to disengage SODE and see if FSX, by itself, sees any duplicated titles.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

If you are getting the message for the Tiger Moth, then you have another aircraft folder somewhere with the same Title= lines.

That error message is sim-wide, not just for any given aircraft.cfg.

Hi there Mr Zippy!!

Nice to hear from you again! you are always ready to help people in distress, I like that very much, Ok, your question,

1) the Tiger Moth was not the only one, all the airplanes in my simulator , every one of them where mention in the messages, the TBM Avenger was the first and then the rest, everyone of my airplanes came by! and of course in this way I can not use the simulator, I must first klik everyone of then one by one(a lot of work) and when I was done I want to call one of my airplanes, and then I got again the same message begining with the TBM Avenger! here we go again!!

2) When this happend I had to take the SODE out of my system, I did but when I try again to open the simulator, there was the message again! the only way to use the simulator was, going back in time a couple of days before, in this way was posible to fly again with out problem. but now I have a lot of scenerys that don't work like it should, I miss textures, jetways, a lot of the scenery etc, etc. In short, is a waist of money and I don't like it at all!!

My simulator was working perfect until the SODE came in, before I had never messages of this kind!

Dear Zippy, thanks for your time and I hope in the future I wil beat this damn problem, with a little help of my friends(The Beatles)
