loki
Something to note is that Microsoft does not support Windows 7 on the latest Intel (Kaby Lake) and AMD (Ryzen) CPUs and prevents the installation of updates on these systems, including security patches. This doesn't mean Windows 7 won't run on a Kaby Lake processor, but it may not make use of the latest features of the CPU and if there is a problem, Microsoft won't be of help. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/04/new-processors-are-now-blocked-from-receiving-updates-on-old-windows/
usb777
Thanks that is good to know. I am now using the i7 4770k how much longer will they be supporting that? I do not even update any of my windows 7 computers anymore anyway since all to often an undesirable update like the windows 10 auto upgrade I stopped. The updates created more problems then they solved and I only use Microsoft essentials and my own good judgment anymore for the firewall. I just would like to pas the 4g on the processor without overclocking Mike G.
