DrawyahGames
This has definitely been talked about in the past, but I'd like to see how it is now. One thing I've wanted for a little while now is the PMDG 737 NGX. The only thing stopping me at the moment however is the price - As a full-time college student, I just cannot afford it! I'm against piracy of any form, so that's also out. Has there ever been a sale on the aircraft ever? Or have PMDG and Aerosoft when they re-publish it kept the price the same ever since day 1? Another option I have is getting the CD/DVD option, but that will just create mass compatibility issues for Steam Edition since it is not supported, so not really worth the risk. So what are the chances of ever finding a sale on this aircraft, or am I just playing the waiting game until I will be able to afford it? runway 14 left
I see a lot said about the PMDG 737. What makes it so much better than the default or other 737s? Can someone provide a quick answer or point me to a thread that answers it? No trying to change this topic. I'm interested in hearing an answer to the question above as well. If you want it, just collect the money then buy it any time when you are ready. It is worth every pennies. Aerosoft website sell it with a bit cheaper price. But if you have the problem with the installation, etc., you must go back to Aerosoft. When the new update is launched, you must wait for Aerosoft to release the update. You cannot go directly to PMDG to submit any tickets or getting any update. Sent from my SM-N915F using Tapatalk
loki
Have you tried contacting Aerosoft directly? Pretty sure the boxed edition supports Steam too. A quick Google search found the links below mentioning FSX Steam support. http://en.shop.aerosoft.com/eshop.php?action=article_detail&s_supplier_aid=10278&s_design=DEFAULT&shopfilter_category=flight%20simulation&s_language=english http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/97033-pmdg-737-ngx-boxed-version-updates/ As for the price, saving will be your best route. To many, the PMDG 737 NGX is the most advanced Boeing 737 on the market. Every function/switch works, FMC functional, very high quality model and textures, it's probably as realistic to the real aircraft as you can get. The default 737 does it's job, but 10 years on it hasn't stood the test of time with a very poor looking Virtual Cockpit, exterior model is the wrong shape in some parts (model limitations at the time) and overall it's very, very simple when compared to the NGX. If you enjoy the default however, then stick with that and install the Advanced Cockpit mod which slightly upgrades it. AFAIK, It never been on sale. If the disc claims to be Steam supported, I guess I'll go for it! Have you tried contacting Aerosoft directly? Pretty sure the boxed edition supports Steam too. davidjones
If you are really interested, go to this link: http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/docs.html and download the intro and tutorial manual. Then buy the aircraft directly from PMDG to make sure you get the latest updated version. You will always pay full price. PMDG rarely discounts an established product. tgon
Not sure if the iFly model ever discounts, as an alternative. It's certainly not cheap by any means. Best, Phil https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKdirect/
davidjones
Flight1 does specials from time to time. You never know. DJ
JSMR
Not sure if the iFly model ever discounts, as an alternative. It's certainly not cheap by any means. But you get more models for the price along with more systems modelling and options. Better value for more aircraft. https://fshub.io/airline/RUA/overview

kingnorris
Decided to go for it, hopefully arrives before the weekend! :D Just remember, it's not a "control+E" starter plane. Read all the documentation, watch YouTube videos until your eyes bleed, and read some more. It's as close to flying the real thing without going to flight school... Good luck! Yeah, I do know this, [Ctrl] + [E] resets the engines. The 737 Startup is not too hard to do, most of my learning will probably be in the FMC, setting that up, but I have been watching tutorials and will do until it arrives. :) Check out my YouTube Channel for FSX, X-Plane and other simulator content! https://www.youtube.com/c/Drawyah/
