il88pp
I wanted to do a flight from KBNA Nashville U.S. After the walkaround I decided to have a peek from the Tower view. That looked fine at first. I zoomed out to get an overview of the airport. Suddenly the view was blocked by an image of a mountainous terrain. Obviously a 2D image, and not the 3D scenery. It looks like the exact same texture I see at some (addon) airports. There it is the reflection in the windows on the terminal. It ismore obvious there I thing when you park in fromt of the terminal, at low light conditions. But I'm not sure on that. On the terminals it's not too bad. It does actually improve the look from a distance. Only very rarely is it a little distracting. THis is what I saw from inside the Nasville KBNA default tower. I can't find any reference to this online. Looking for answers to questions like: -Does your KBNA tower do this too? -What is the filename of the default texture for the tower glass? (I have backups) -Anyone know what addon might be responsible? Thanks! this is what it looked like: normal: zoomed out: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mrzippy
I think we better determine if it's zoomed out or in. When zooming out the tower view like a telescope it looks normal. When zooming in like a microscope, I get the mountain view. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
il88pp
for me it's the exact opposite. "normal" zoomed in is ok. zoomed out (- - - - - - -), giving wide angle view, overview of whole airport, it's mountains. in again (+ + + + + +), to look more closely at my plane, it's ok again. change happens after fourth - [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
il88pp
Seems I had Googled badly. I searched for "transparent" but I should have searched for "reflection". FOund this, saying it's normal in some towers. No hint of a fix unfortunately... http://www.avsim.com/topic/60373-windows-in-tower-view/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
il88pp
Ok, in that first thread I saw you could move up the viewpoint to avoid this. Simply with shift-enter. I also saw it is possible to pan in the tower. I found here how to make it possible to move the viewpoint up: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?225102-FSX-Tower-View The keyboard shortcut you need to assign to unlock the panning is: "View track/pan (toggle)". Good enough for me.;) thanks for reporting you saw this happen too, MrZippy.:) il. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
