Just an idea (don't know if possible.) Has anyone tried creating AI plans where the departure and destination are the same?

Indeed, AI plans is another option (but not the way you suggest).

What you do is create a week plan, with the aircraft quickly flying to/from a nearby airport once a week (at a time nobody's supposed to watch ;)). The rest of the week the aircraft is just sitting on the apron. One has to juggle a bit with atc_parking_codes to have the aircraft sitting on the right spot.

Sure, Pv

you make a week-long flightplan where the ac is parked the whole time except for one short span of local touch-n-go's at 3AM or whatever time you WON'T be around to see them. In some respects, this is easier than the object placement - it lets you use any aircraft that you can fly.

quiet, fast and cool running.

Respecting the coded and therefore right spot? Some do, other don't! I created a couple of

separate AFD to have statics at the right places. A runway of 50 ft and a parking spot, that's enough.
