richb
Way back in FS98 I had static aircraft at airports. Is there an easy way to do this in FSX? Or....how about a non-easy way? Thanks Rich
f16jockey_2
For making the model : Static Aircraft Model Maker http://stuff4fs.com/open.asp?Folder=SAMM&JS=TRUE. To place the model I use LibraryCreatorXML and Airport Design Editor. You need the SDK for this. There are other options, I'm sure. Wim
pvarn
Just an idea (don't know if possible.) Has anyone tried creating AI plans where the departure and destination are the same? -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
Guest cdonah45
I have had My Traffic for many years, it adds traffic to all airports.
f16jockey_2
Indeed, AI plans is another option (but not the way you suggest). What you do is create a week plan, with the aircraft quickly flying to/from a nearby airport once a week (at a time nobody's supposed to watch ;)). The rest of the week the aircraft is just sitting on the apron. One has to juggle a bit with atc_parking_codes to have the aircraft sitting on the right spot. pvarn
OK. I was under the impression the AI don't show up until close to the time of departure. -Pv- 2 carrot salad, 10.41 liter bucket, electric doorbell, 17 inch fan, 12X14, 85 Dbm
llivaudais
Sure, Pv you make a week-long flightplan where the ac is parked the whole time except for one short span of local touch-n-go's at 3AM or whatever time you WON'T be around to see them. In some respects, this is easier than the object placement - it lets you use any aircraft that you can fly. leuen
One has to juggle a bit with atc_parking_codes to have the aircraft sitting on the right spot. Respecting the coded and therefore right spot? Some do, other don't! I created a couple of separate AFD to have statics at the right places. A runway of 50 ft and a parking spot, that's enough. f16jockey_2
it lets you use any aircraft that you can fly. True, but a not so good idea from the performance POV. Same with static models, better use a specific AI plane as a basis. Wim
