  1. Has anyone else had an issue with ATC not giving the descent instructions on an IFR planned flight until far too late (or not at all)? Also, I am getting handed off between ATC frequencies far too often. For example on a flight yesterday from Atlanta to JFK, I was handed between New York Centre and Boston Centre at least twenty times (I'm not exaggerating). As soon as I checked in with one of them, they sent me straight back to the other. This continued all the way through the approach phase of the flight from about 40 miles out. This might have been the reason I didn't get assigned lower altitudes on that flight but I'm still being left too high for landing even when ATC is not playing ping pong with me between centres! Still a great sim experience though ☺ Mark L
  2. Neil, I'm not a developer but I've been following your updates my friend. I got all excited when I saw you had modelled Rayne Airstrip. My excitement has been because I've been waiting for you to model EGSL (Andrewsfield) where I used to fly from in my own PA 28-180. Hope springs eternal !!! I live near EGSL, if you need any ground photos I'm happy to help. Kind regards and thanks for what you've been doing. Mark Lewis.
  3. I've had the Airbus throttles and stick on order since early September with Amazon. They put back the delivery date twice, but yesterday I received an email saying they were unable to source the items and had deleted the order from my account. Anyone else suffering with trying to get their hands on a new Thrustmaster TCA Officer Pack Airbus Edition? I've also been looking for a new Saitek autopilot box. Also out of stock everywhere and very inflated prices on Ebay! Anyone know of any reasonably priced stock in the UK? Thanks Mark L
  4. I'm sorry you had that experience FlyerDoc, but I'm pleased that it isn't unique to my system! ☺ I've raised a Zendesk ticket for that issue. Regards Mark
  5. Vern, There are three black swivel knobs under the autopilot housing. One of them will increase the yellow read-out windows for the auto pilot. From cold and dark, make sure you first click on ext power, then both batteries, then start the APU, wait a short while then click on APU Bleed. This will allow you to then start each engine using the starter levers on the central console. I'm not an expert - I acquired this info from videos on YT. Regards Mark
  6. Don't know if the systems work without the mod, because, because I've installed the latest version. However, I just tried another flight from Heathrow this time. Was able to do everything. Started from cold and dark, had a great flight where the plane followed the flight plan all the way to Stansted. It was the first time the auto pilot had not lost any of the route. Turned onto final and had the same old issue where everything switched off. No power, no screens, unable to relight engines. Managed a fairly good deadstick landing with a reduced flap setting, rolled to a stop with no reverse thrusters and then found the next glitch...... the log book isn't registering any of my recent landings. Records all take offs but no landing info since the last patch was installed. (Update - reported log book problem to Zendesk)
  7. The latest fly by wire files makes the startup of the A320 from cold and dark an absolute pleasure. I was recreating a flight from Gatwick to Heathrow to practice what I'd I'd learned from the A320 Pilot YT video. Here's the latest issue I've encountered. I'm on the stand, ask for push back and the tug engages, then nothing! Plane won't move. I've started both engines and engaged reverse thrust but the plane is glued to the spot (yes, I've checked that the parking brake is off). I can't even move forward under full thrust and crash into the terminal. The screen isn't frozen, everything is moving and working, only I'm glued to the tarmac! The screen showed a speed of 168kts whilst stationary. Pulling back on the joystick led to overstress and a crash to the usual menu. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I'll report it to zendesk. Regards Mark
  8. Fly by wire updated their files a few days ago (after the latest MSFS patch). I deleted the old files, installed the new ones and the screens are all illuminated in the cockpit again. Cold and dark starts are back on the agenda again! Thanks to whoever fixed the fly by wire files. As previous posts have stated, a lot of the problems I experienced were due to me failing to understand how the A320 systems work. Acquiring that knowledge has enabled me to fly the A320 much more easily (when the bugs are not the problem). I'm still struggling with the SID and STAR routes not being captured by the auto pilot even when they are visible in the map and within the FMC. I've watched a few YouTube videos that have covered set up of the systems, but can't work out how to get the autopilot to follow SID & STAR routes. I'd also like to get the ILS data entered and used, but haven't found a guide to assist me with this yet. If anyone has seen videos or guides that cover these aspects, feel free to share the links. Many thanks Mark L
  9. Since the latest update, I cant get the MFDs to work regardless of whether I have fuel in the centre tank, start cold and dark from a gate or fired up at a runway. I have deleted and reinstalled the a32nx files that had previously fixed all the issues. Now I can't fly the 320 at all. Ctrl + E will start the engines but nothing I do makes the MFDs fire up!
  10. Thanks Vern, I've actually found a couple of dimmer/brightness knobs under the autopilot console. One of them makes a difference to the brightness of the AP display. Regards Mark
  11. I have identified that many of the problems I thought the A320 was displaying, are actually me not understanding how to operate the systems correctly. The centre MFD's are usually NOT off, I just need to turn up the lighting, using the correct knobs (although the captain's main display often returns to blank on final app and needs to be turned up again during a critical phase of flight). There are times when the main battery switches just won't work and on those occasions I have to go through a lengthy re-boot of the flight I'd planned. I've reported this through zendesk and had a response from them. I've also reported the random failure of all systems after take off with no way of relighting the engines before the inevitable contact with the ground. I now know that by leaving the throttles at the CL position, climb, cruise and descent can all be managed and I'm loving the realism of the sim despite the bugs yet to be fixed. There are some great YouTube tutorials of how to use the autopilot of the A320. I have one question - when every system in the cockpit is working except for the auto pilot display, I'm wondering if there is a switch or brightness control for that which I've not found yet. Any suggestions, or is it a bug yet to be fixed?
  12. You are absolutely correct Kapitan, adding fuel to the centre tank ensures the MFD displays do not switch off. Here's the latest problem! With Developer Mode off, I get the FPS display and no way of turning it off. I have to run the game in developer mode in order to switch off FPS. I understand that in Developer mode, the log book doesn't record flights. Weird developments! Does anyone else get this problem? Also, did anyone else get made to download almost 111|GB of data after installing the patch? Thanks M
