  1. Kit, Please feel free to use the [Club Chachapoya] Label for your upcoming RTW; just put it in at the beginning of the Thread Title. If you plan on coming through the States I'll follow along, too! Melo The Perfect Landing does rustle up some good grub. Haven't been there for anything but Breakfast, though. Glad to see you as always!
  2. And locally, there's always CB Radio to fall back on. I think I still have that old rig laying around somewhere... I have a little Grundig G5 shortwave radio, but have never been able to pick anything up other than AM/FM. I wouldn't know where to tune anyway; it's in Meter Bands instead of MHz or KHz. Had much more experience jabbering away on Ch. 7 in my youth (that was our preferred CB Channel).
  3. Many thanks! I've always run Nine in Fullscreen mode but with this recent HP laptop things like the GPS flicker occasionally 1.9 gig AMD processor with 1 gig GPU. So I've been using Windowed mode lately and things have been much better. 20 fps in Fullscreen but 30 in Windowed.
  4. wobbie do you run Nine and GW in Fullscreen or Windowed Mode?
  5. Only one, and I have a real bad Take regarding "Mr. Elon", SpaceX and his penchant for running away when the Temperature starts to rise in la cocina. He is in a very unique position...
  6. In those days, the A/V gig was the one everyone wanted. You'd get good learning the workings of those Slide and 16mm Projectors, and making Transparencies for the Overhead viewer! I think we're all aware of just how much spewing lava, stinky horse apples and absolute gunk is being put on YouTube these days. However, there are some great Documentaries to be had there, especially those posted by NASA, their Global partners or the Smithsonian NASM. Whether it's listening to an old video of Bob Hoover and Chuck Yeager telling tall tales, the Crew of Apollo 8 recalling their Mission forty years after the fact, or my man Oleg extolling the virtues of a hearty Breakfast before an EVA on the ISS ( vid in previous Post), there's some interesting, informative and educational stuff out there. Even those old Films they used to show (some) of us in School from the 50's - 70's!
  7. Nope... Oleg's content is all in Russian. My favorite Video of his (turn on Subtitles)...
  8. NASA TV has some great content. I also like watching what the other Space agencies are up to. If I had a favorite, I'd say Oleg Artemayev's Channel on YT. He's totally low key and shows stuff from the Russian side not usually seen. You're a Space nut... I'm a SpaceFood nut!
  9. Make sure you also install the 9.1 Patch and the No CD Patch, and Archive those fresh CD's! Glad you got it up and running again!
  10. And you don't have any other FlightSim peripherals connected to the offending Computer that could cause a conflict with the Joystick in question? Something is causing your Sim to impart Input to the Rudder; a misassigned Axis, conflicting entries with Sensitivities... something. The Wingman works on the Dell (but 'slow'?) and not at all with the Acer. I don't know what "prefetch" is but since the Rudder issue is still there it's not the fault of that add on. It could also be the twist axis Pot is bad and doesn't present itself on the Dell but does on the Acer. Just trying to eliminate the Variables short of a 'click to Restore Defaults' or a complete Re-install. Compare the Joystick properties in Sim between the Dell and the Acer, and see if it's the same. Also check the Realism Settings between them regarding P factor, Torque, etc. I'm spitballing here throwing things out...
  11. The only things I can think of are USB 3.0 to 2.0 interface for the Ports, or something in W11 is reading/mapping the Joystick differently. If you've got other Peripherals like a Throttle Quadrant or Rudder Pedals they could also be the cause, but hard to say. I have an Issue with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro; Joystick Properties show the Throttle works through its entire Range, but in Sim the Throttle only goes to 40%. I had to use two of the Joystick buttons for Throttle Increase/Decrease.
  12. You know that doesn't sound good at all; our Sim World is a Disk. Platter. Record Album. Dinner Plate... So I'll just fly off the 'edge', then... Is it true that in Nine as you approach the Poles the World turns into a Cylinder?
  13. Wouldn't there be Registry issues moving it from C:\Program Files to C:\? I will say that the Laptop I'm currently using has a 'vanilla' Install of W7 Pro 64 bit, and I purposely turned Win Updates OFF. I loaded Nine from the Disks into C:\ + 9.1 and the No CD Fix. Nine is the only thing on this HD other than W7 and Silent Hunter 4 (Submarine Sim). No Internet connection, either... just like the Galactica.
  14. To prevent further confusion, perhaps for future Events we should keep things to one single Thread for the entire Event.
  15. Welcome to Denver! Since you're going to have Techs swarming over your Spit for the next few days that'll work out okay 'cause the Wx is gonna turn tomorrow. Increasing winds and Precip moving in for the next week with afternoon T showers. Fire away if you have any questions! C U at the Perfect Landing!
