  1. Same here---been decompressing Kaitak airport for about an hour!! Don't really want to shut it down and start that over right now, so gonna' go eat dinner and see what's going on after. Wanted to fly tonight but not sure now......
  2. I can't offer much of a solution, but the same thing happened to me a couple days ago. I exited the sim and then restarted and everything worked fine. Not sure what the problem is but it must definitely be on their end!!
  3. I figured out it was working by seeing it maintain altitude and course , both by vor tracking and gps tracking. I use what I think are the preprogramed keys, ie: On - alt+z, Off-shift+alt+z, altitude hold- ctl+a and Nav hold- -ctl+n. They all work as advertised! I have noticed that I have to hit the keys solidly to get the to work.
  4. Let's see if this works. If you open it and resave it as systems.cfg you should be able to move it into your aircraft folder. archer systems cfg.txt
  5. Nope. Until I started looking for an answer I didn't know I'd need a system file. It was already there.
  6. Something is missing there. All of my aircraft have many more than those 4. Seems like without the other files the aircraft wouldn't work. Might want to try another install. Can't think of anything else to recomment.
  7. Open the carenado-aircraft-pa28-archer-ii file. Open the aircraft by going to sim objects, airplanes and and then the archer folder. You'll get the list of files in the aircraft folder. Scroll down until you see the systems file toward the bottom of the list. Open that and then scroll down until you find the heading electrical. In there, circuit # 33 is the one that needs to be changed. Move across the page until you find the power item (it's something like 40, 40, 40.0#) and then change that to match the power item right above it= 5, 10, 10.0# than save before closing. That is what allowed my autopilot to work. It appears that the way Carenado sets it up the autopilot has no circuit breaker and therefore no power. This gives it that power!! Good luck!
  8. Found it!! After a couple days exploring and trying to find an answer, I decided to compare files between the Archer and aircraft that have functioning autopilots. What I found was that the working ones used the same power source as the audio power. I made the following change and now I have autopilot using my keyboard: Go to systems, then electrical. Scroll down to autopilot, go across the page to power and it should look like this! power:5, 10, 10.0#
  9. Thanks for the input Tim. The Archer did have an ai.cfg file, but I tried the one from the Skyhawk as well. Still doesn't work. For comparison, I changed the autopilot in the C152 Aerobat from 0 to 1 and everything works fine. There seems to be something in the build of the Archer that keeps the autopilot from engaging. I'm looking, but no joy yet!!
  10. I recently acquired the Carenado Piper Archer and really enjoy flying this aircraft. I normally do 2 to 3 hour legs and so there are times I need to walk away, like to get more coffee or to get rid of some!! I was a bit dismayed to find the aircraft did not have an autopilot. In the System.cfg file the autopilot available is set to 1 and all the other numbers in that file are similar to the autopilot in the Skyhawk. My key bindings for the autopilot work perfectly in the Skyhawk but have no effect on the Archer. I've done a bunch of looking and find no reference to another place that the autopilot needs activation. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a setting that prevents the autopilot from work other than in the system.cfg. Thanks in advance for any helt!!
  11. After trying all the ideas here and from Microsoft's zen desk and playing around for 3 weeks, I finally got fed up with this and a couple other issues on my pc. So, I did a repair of Windows which is basically a reinstall but saves your files. I still don't know what the issue was, but MSFS is now downloading!! I may get to use it again after all!
  12. None of the above---its all the same. My ISP has changed but I don't see what affect that could have.
  13. Thanks again, Tim. I appreciate all your efforts here. I tried this process and reset my store as well and still the same problem. I agree that it appears that the credentials have been corrupted and it's appearing that the only wat to get them back is repurchase which I'm loath to do. Guess I'll just hang it up for awhile and maybe by some miracle the problem will go away. Just don't know what else to try presently.
  14. Thanks again, Tim. My Xbox app and Xbox Game Bar were both reloaded in the past couple days. The link you gave me does not show that I already own the game but, instead, wants to charge me again, although in pounds it appear rather than dollars.
  15. Thanks, Tim. I've already done that numerous times, including uninstalling/reinstalling both. No luck. Guess I'll keep playing with it a bit longer and, if all else fails, just give up.
  16. A week and a half ago my MSFS began asking for the program disk. After trying every fix I could find I decided to give up on that endeavor and redownload the entire program from the Microsoft Store. I uninstalled the program and removed all vestiges of it and am now trying to start the download. It seems that the initial 1.1m download of the program is working but the download of the Digital Ownership never starts--it just sits at 0bps and never downloads. After about a minute everything changes to error and stops trying. I've gone through every step that Microsoft sent me and it hasn't changed a thing! I haven't seen this particular problem addressed before, but if anyone has had this happen and somehow gotten the process to work I could sure use advice on how you did it!! Thanks in advance for any help!
  17. Tom, I've been noticing the same thing of late. It seems my scenery is the off-line version even though I have all data turned on. Yesterday I took my high-speed Cessna 152 and flew in the chase position and watched the scenery loading as the aircraft passed over it! I have 100Mbps fiber optic internet, so there's plenty of speed and bandwidth. I can only surmise that it's another server issue of which there seem to have been many of late! Hopefully it will improve!
  18. All low and slow so far, Cessna 172 and Just Flight Warrior flying around Michigan and California. Much improved smoothness in VR and everything working just fine!!
  19. Airport info and a lot of other good info can be found at http://www.airnav.com
  20. Thanks for the comeback, Tim. That I hadn't tried but I did about everything else. Unfortunately, I had done the uninstall before I saw your recommendation. So, don't get to do the flying I had planned today, but I will have a fresh, up-to-date install by tomorrow!!
  21. Up to now all my updating has worked flawlessly and I've only read about the problems others had. That all changed this morning with the new update. It was 96% downloaded and showed that it was decompressing the basefiles when the sim closed and went back to my main computer screen. Now when I try to open the sim I get a message that the sim cannot open and I need to go to the windows store for resolution. The store shows the sim updated and gives me the option to open or reinstall. Open takes me back to the can't be opened message and reinstall takes me to some x-box page that does nothing. So it looks like it's finally my turn to have to start all over. I'm now a proud member of the mad-at-asobo club!!
  22. For "importing" the navmap window into the sim so that it shows in the cockpit you need the ingame panels. For that I use the one from the ingame panels pack. Then, to make it work, open LNM and go to setting (the gear icon), then to web servers and turn them on. It appears that you only have to do that once and they remain on until you manually turn them off. That way the window shows the data when opened in the sim window, either in monitor mode or in vr. Hope that helps!!
  23. Okay--figured it out and it was based on my own stupidity!! I assumed the web server started automatically when LNM was opened---it DOES NOT! It has to be manually started in settings and when I finally found a reference to that, everything worked!! Amazing what happens when you do things right!!
  24. TTM, thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately they made no difference! Just to be more specific, LNM connects to the sim just fine, shows the aircraft at the departure airport and all my info, but when I try to open the in game panel all I get is a blank, gray box no maps or info. That's the issue I'm trying to solve.
  25. I've been trying to add Little Navmap to my MSFS but keep having a singular problem. The program works great on my computer, but when I try to open it in the sim, either on my monitor or in vr, all I get is a blank gray square. I seem to have everything set up correctly and do have the latest version, so not sure what else to try. Any recommendations or tips appreciated!!
