So I made up a few cache files for certain areas near me where I want to fly. Had cached areas set to high. All was fine and then shut off the online stuff and flew that area. It was very poor and I had my settings set to ultra. It was much better and more detailed flying with online turned on and setting set on high. What happened to the cache file that was supposed to be high detail. I did activate the cache file in the sim. Am I doing something wrong.

I have the sim running okay and downloaded the Alaska Bush Trip challenge. All seemed fine till I went to run it and it gets to the point showing the legs of the trip on screen and I click to load it and it gets to about I'd say 75% and then MSFS shuts down. Tried to restart computer and sim, shows update screen as usual but nothing gets updated. Same issue. Also downloaded the World Update USA file and have downloaded most of the minus a couple cities. The file that is the USA Points of Interest I've tried to download 3 times now and it gets to where it shows on the progress bar that its finished except it shows an error and on the info tab it says I need Game version 1.11.5 Now I did download and install that FSUIP for 2020 and installed it as I was going to do some other scenery things which I havent got around to yet plus I did install a couple of those map programs. Not sure if this has anything to do with all of this. Dont know why the bush trip keeps shutting down the sim and why this Points of interest wont install.

Got the new Honeycomb. Yoke and still setting this up. As far as brakes it seems no matter what key I assign on the keyboard it doesn’t work to e=release the brakes in the sim. Could it be the keyboard.

Just got my new Honeycomb yoke today. Was looking around to find out what buttons to set up for what. I can figure out a few but you guys probably have a certain way of setting them up to make certain certain buttons do certain things. Is there a web site that might help. Also before I go This is an awesome yoke. Way beyond the old CH Products one I have that didn’t work. This thing is solid. Excellent quality. And heavy. Not some cheap piece of plastic. So happy I went for it.

Just getting MSFS setup finally. On the Profile section it shows a pic of some comic person I guess and a number. Can I change this to my own pic and info. I've tried to find where I could do this but cant get into the right area I guess or how do I do this.

Hi again guys. So here's where I'm at. I have 2 planes in the hanger. The 150 and the TBM Daher. Booth are loaded but no other planes are showing. Marketplace is blanked out. Can't click on it. Whatever that is for. Also the flight training shows the 150 in the initial screen but when you click on it all sections are blanked out. Nothing to click on. Not sure what the hell is going on. Does Microsoft have a fixit file that will straighten this all out. And how does a person get more aircraft or anything else. My profile shows some weird looking person and i cant find where you can change your profile. Lots of issues going on.

Heh Steve. Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Honeycomb and its pricey for sure. Might get it though. What was the problem with the Sailtek yoke. I was almost going to get one of them. I did go into content manager and did see more downloads for something. I just thought the sim came with a bunch of aircraft to begin with. I'll have a look here shortly to see what all the download is about. another thing if you dont mind. When the sim is downloaded and then you have to update it. I was watching every so often as it took forever to download the update, on what was downloading. i'm sure i saw 737 or maybe the Dreamliner that was downloading. Or i could be wrong. On the update it took me almost 2 weeks to get it finally downloaded. Wondered if that caused any issues with things.

Hi guys Its a CH Products flight sim yoke. USB LE. Had it and the rudder pedals probably for about 30 years I think. Had every MSFS since they started. just bought this new machine (high end) with curved monitor (32") so I could run this new sim. finally got it downloaded, slow internet here. Windows 10 recognizes the yoke, haven't tried the pedals yet. When i open the sim it shows it there with a question mark on it. I've played around setting the buttons up but it has issues when I try to fly. Some don't work when they're set up. I also played around with the sensitivities also. Helped but then all of a sudden everything goes snaky. I know its an old yoke and pedals and figured they might or might not work. I see some guys are getting them to work but others not. I'm willing to through them back in the closet and buy a good set. Which is another question for you. Which set is good. Don't want to go high end with all the fancy crap, just a good set that would work. I see some use the Logitech ones. Never had a set of those. I definitely want a yoke and not a joy stick plus pedals. I see some on Amazon, cant remember the brand. Another thing i found is I only have 2 aircraft in the hanger. I only got the standard version but isn't suppose to have a bunch of planes or did I screw up somewhere. When i was near the end of the update for the sim before being able to open it I thought i had about 30-50 Gig left to download but then when I looked about an hour after it had finished and the sim was open. Did something happen. I tried to update but all says its good. I would like to at least get this up and going and be able to fly it. Even keyboard commands are having an issue. Hope you guys can help out.

I have the older CH flight sim yoke LE and rudder pedals. Do I need drivers for Win 10. Cant seem to get the sim to recognize the yoke. Haven't tried pedals yet. Still working on the yoke. I see some posts saying don't use the CH control manager also. I can get the throttle to work kind of but nothing else.

Just a quick question. What exactly is the digital download about. I've downloaded the sim but wondering what the digital is about before I download it if needed

I get a error Code: 0x80070490 with new windows 10 machine when trying to install FSFS from my store page.

I know it's probably on here but could find it. I have the new MSFS installed and its doing the updates right now. Been at it for 2 days. It's taking forever to get all of it. Yes my internet is slow but this is foolish. Is there not a way before it does the updating to pick which areas I want to have updated. So far it's downloading all these different cities etc in areas I'm not interested in. Surely there must be a way to get into the sim to decide all of this. The way it's going it'll be a week before I can use this thing. What keys does a guy push to do this. Also Where would I find a tutorial for the sim as far as downloading etc. I know I saw it a few months ago but can't find it now. Hope someone can help out on this. Want to get this up and running to see how my new machine and monitor handle it all.

Hi Raven. Confusing, No, In fact you enlightened me as far as some good info. I'm not new to sims or computers as I'm past 60 yrs age but always been into flying from day one. I know its a learning curve to catch up on technology which changes daily you get a brain cramp. I just would like a machine that runs the sim fine and doesn't tick me off a few months later because some sales person said it would be fine but could care less. I don't mid spending a good dollar for this as It will be the last one I'll buy I'm sure. A new curved monitor is also in the works too.

Thanks. Yes I know about the being obsolete thing. Same as buying a car. Appreciate the thought and info. I do have yoke and pedals but older ones CH Products. Apparently will work with some fiddling around with things so i've read.

So it may already be on the forum here but I am looking at buying a machine that will run this new sim properly. I am used to flight sim and have all of them from the original. Need a new machine though as my old one is outdated. I live in Canada and not buying from the US as shipping etc. I've looked at Staples and Best Buy. I'm not that familiar with all the specs as they boggle my brain. The staff at the 2 stores seem to talk like they know they're stuff but when i got home and then went online and found tomshardware.com and read what he had to say it makes me wonder did the staff have any idea. They all said oh yes this machine will be fine for that sim but Tom says different. Prices varied from $1000 to $1700. I don't mind spending the money if its warranted but just don't want to spend a lot when its not needed. But I don't want to buy a $1000 machine that the sales girl said would be fine and is above the requirements that Microsoft recommends. (I printed a copy to take to them) to find out later its not enough machine. Tom says there's not a machine capable yet to handle full sim. He's saying maybe next year. He also says there's no game out there that requires more power than the new MS 2020 If you gurus could direct me on a decision here. I know there are some of you who are right on top of things tech wise. That's why I thought I'd post my help me here. You guys if you could look at the machines they have and tell me the better one. Not interested in having one built. I'm not expecting miracles from a machine as I know there are limit to everything, just a machine that one of these guys have that works good for this sim. Hoping you can direct me.
