Airbus A320 IAE Suid Afrikaanse Lugdiens retro livery (1970) - ZS-SHA. South African Airways was founded in 1934 after the acquisition of Union Airways by the South African government. The airline was initially overseen and controlled by South African Railways and Harbours Administration. Anti-apartheid sanctions by African countries deprived the airline of stopover airports during apartheid, forcing it to bypass the continent with long-range aircraft. During this time, it was also known by its Afrikaans name, Suid-Afrikaanse Lugdiens. In 1997 SAA changed its name, image and aircraft livery. The flag is the national from 1928 to 1982. Full pack. The airline was founded in August 2014 under the name Germania Flug, with the participation of the German airline Germania and the Swiss leisure tourism company Hotelplan. On February 4, 2019 Germania, after failing to obtain definitive support from a group of investors, declared bankruptcy and suspended all its flights. Germania Flug was not affected by the bankruptcy of its main shareholder and continued its operations. Shortly afterwards it was reported that Germania's entire stake had been sold to Albex Aviation, owner of Air Prishtina. On June 11, 2019 the airline was renamed Chair Airlines. Full pack.
