  1. FS2004 1953 United Air Lines B377 Stratocruiser

FS2004 1953 United Air Lines B377 Stratocruiser. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. The UAL B377-034s delivered in 1950 had less efficient Curtiss props and were never allowed to depart heavier than an early model C-97A. While in UAL service they normally used only airline grade fuel. They briefly flew California - Hawaii and some west coast internals, but never made a profit. They were sold to BOAC in 1954, soon taking over the London to Accra and Lagos services via Tripoli. After decolonization they wore the livery of Ghana Airways and Nigeria Airways serving London via Frankfurt, Madrid, Paris, or Rome. Some Lagos flights stopped at Kano. They were replaced by Britannias during 1959. A complete aircraft, includes model, panel, and sounds.  This is the FS2004 B377 Base Pack, use this for panel and sounds for all liveries.  For liveries other than UAL use the FS2004 B377 Update Pack for models and flight dynamics.  By Greg Pepper, Tom Gibson, and FSAviator

  3. FS2004 1956 Pan American Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas

FS2004 1956 Pan American Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. The Douglas DC-7C Seven Seas in Pan American World Airways colors, circa 1956 to 1958. Pan American needed an aircraft that was able to fly non-stop transatlantic services, even westbound with average winds (their current DC-7B service usually required a stop).  Douglas responded by stretching the fuselage by 42 inches and, more importantly, lengthening the wings by inserting a 5 foot extension at each wing root.  This gave the new DC-7C Seven Seas (in a clever pun on "7C") not only more room for fuel, but placed the engines further out on the wing, lessening the noise and vibration of the rather loud Wright R-3350 radials.  More powerful engines of 3400 hp each were fitted to the DC-7C, and all these improvements stretched the range to 5635 miles, allowing non-stop routes never before possible with Douglas aircraft.  The first Seven Seas service was introduced by Pan American on June 1, 1956, and a total of 121 DC-7C's were eventually delivered to the airlines. This is the FS2004 DC-7C Base Pack, add other DC-7C liveries to this package.  Requires the FS2004 DC-7 Base Pack for panel and sounds.  By Greg Pepper, Tom Gibson, Jens Kristensen, Dave McQueen, and FSAviator

  4. FS2004 1958 and 1962 Denver Stapleton Airport Scenery

FS2004 1958 and 1962 Denver Stapleton Airport Scenery This scenery package depicts Denver Stapleton Air Field as appeared in circa 1958 and 1962. In 1958 the original hanger stood where the east end of the United Air Lines office building is. The Combs Aviation hangar was the second of the 2 original hangars built within a year of the airport's opening and remained standing until the 1967 airport expansion project. The restaurant addition to the original terminal dated back to the early 1940s, and remained til the closing of the airport in 1995. The 1962 version of Stapleton is an example of an airport in transition. The old terminal used in the 1958 version is being replaced by a terminal to be opened in 1964. In our version (sometime in 1962 is our best guess) the northern portion of aircraft parking at the old terminal has been closed in preparation for the construction of the new terminal building and thus a temporary finger has been built between the construction sites of the 2 fingers for the new terminal. The new terminal's north finger is under construction, while the south finger will soon be. At this time the northern part of the old terminal is still intact, but about to be torn down to make way for new terminal construction. To allow for more flights, the south extension of the old terminal has been completely enclosed from the weather and the freight building has been enlarged. It also includes 34 simple Rocky Mountain airports that had airline service. 15. FS2004 1961 Rome Fiumicino Airport Scenery

FS2004 1961 Rome Fiumicino Airport Scenery The airport was officially opened on 15 January 1961 with two runways, replacing the smaller Rome Ciampino Airport, which remains in service for some low-cost airlines as well as domestic and charter operations. Despite being officially opened in 1961, Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport had actually been in use since 20 August 1960. This was to help relieve air traffic that was congesting Rome Ciampino Airport during the 1960 Summer Olympics. During the 1960s, home-carrier Alitalia invested heavily in the new airport, building hangars and maintenance centers. By Michael Schneider, Tom Gibson, and Mike Stevens

  18. FS2004 1962 Pittsburgh Airport Scenery

FS2004 1962 Pittsburgh Airport Scenery This package will backdate the default Pittsburgh Intl. airport (KPIT) to circa 1962, using the old terminal built by Nick Botamer. Tom Gibson modified Nick's 1975 terminal to its 1962 appearance and added a few hangars and military buildings. Mike Stevens created the ADE file, ground polygons, and all the rest of the details. Thanks to Christian Page for releasing the 1975 KPIT scenery and thus making Nick's terminal available. The new airport, christened as Greater Pittsburgh Airport opened on 31 May 1952. The first flight was on 3 June 1952. In its first full year of operation in 1953, more than 1.4 million passengers used the terminal. "Greater Pitt" was then considered modern and spacious. The airport terminal was the largest in the United States, second only to Idlewild Airport's (now JFK Airport) in New York when it was completed five years later. 19. FS2004 American Air Lines Convair CV-240 CA-18

FS2004 American Air Lines Convair CV-240 CA-18. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. The post war CV-110 unpressurised thirty seat DC-3 'replacement' was poorly timed, but AAL invited Convair to develop it into a pressurized 2 engine 40 seat CV-240 creating the first pressurized twin engined airliner. The CV-240 made its debut with American Air Lines in June 1948, but only 171 of the 556 CV-240s built were for airline use, the remainder were varieties of T-29 flying classroom and 26 x C-131A Samaritan air ambulances for the USAF and USCG. By the end of 1952 the CV-240 was giving way to the much stronger, heavier, and larger winged CV-340. This version has flight dynamics for the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 CA-18 engine. Includes model, panel, and sounds. This is the FS2004 CV-240 CA-18 Base Pack, add other liveries to this package (not VBF liveries).  Also provides panel, sounds, and updated flight dynamics for the VBF CV-240s. 23. FS2004 Continental Convair CV-440

FS2004 Continental Convair CV-440. Part of the CalClassic Archive Project. Belatedly intended to compete with the Vickers Viscount, the CV-440 Metropolitan made its airline debut with Continental in March 1956. With a significant maximum weight increase this allowed the CV-440 to make full use of 145 Octane AVGAS in R-2800 engines configured as CB-17s. Weather radar in an extended nose became optional. The earlier, less than fully successful and noisy twin exhaust thrust augmentation system gave way to a much quieter single wide exhaust. Of the 199 built just over 150 went to airlines. Military and naval designations were C-131D/E/F and R4Y-2. One hundred civilian and military CV-340s were then upgraded to a similar standard. 25. FS2004 Douglas DC-4 Operations Procedures Update

FS2004 Douglas DC-4 Operations Procedures Update. This package installs more realistic handling notes specific to military versus airline use of different variants in different decades. Multiple CalClassic Notepads become available for the first time. New VC and 2D panel content better reflects changes over time. The flight dynamics have improvements and add an extra engine variant. However, this increased accuracy requires higher levels of comprehension, judgement, and knowledge - all of which requires careful reading of the original Propliner Tutorial, the included C-54/DC-4 Tutorial, and the more detailed handling notes for each subtype. If you are not willing to make this effort, this update will do little to improve the original JBK C-54/DC4 V3 package, which should be used instead. PLEASE NOTE: This version also assumes that you are a relatively experienced FS user and know how to make file edits, etc. on your computer. This package is not designed for beginners to propliner flying. Again, if you are just starting out we suggest you install the JBK DC-4 V3 package. By Jens Kristensen, FSAviator, and Tom Gibson
