Some pilots (myself included) can tolerate rates of descent well over 2000 fpm, but it takes special technique.

Rubbish, 2000fpm is quite ok for most people without any prior "special technique" some harmless ear popping might be experienced

It can't have been any different when you used to fly a lot, but I guess it reinforces the Skygod image old pilots seem to want to impress on others

How fast do you reckon a novice tandem skydive participant descends? and what special techniques do you imagine they are taught before dropping from 14k?

I am current in high performance un pressurised aircraft and did my first  freefall jump from 14k, not a google 'expert' in case you were wondering

There are claims that the  two closest runways in the world with separate airports are:

Gibraltar International Airport (GIB) and La Línea Airport (LEI) in Spain - The distance between the runways of these two airports is only 1.2 kilometers (0.75 miles) apart. Gibraltar International Airport's runway intersects the main road that connects Gibraltar to Spain, causing the road to close every time a plane takes off or lands.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) in Canada - The distance between the runways of these two airports is approximately 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) apart. Despite the close proximity of the runways, there are no known incidents of airplanes crossing paths or interfering with each other's operations.

I suppose it depends how you define runways, but if you include Grass strips, then Westonzoyland and Middle Zoy must be hard to beat  Ive been into Westonzoyland many times irl and its weird being in the circuit and looking down at a different airfield. (they are about 1/2 a kilometre apart)

Ok, there is only one place that sells the legitimate disk version and it's not eBay. Hope the second time you purchased from MS, Steam, or Aerosoft. Then you will never have to purchase again, even for multiple computers.

Hi Skorna, you can also buy the discs from some pilot's supply outfits like Transair I'm sure other places too.

Duck, perhaps you'd like to edit the forthright but incorrect  assertion in your first post?

Developer "Neil's Tours" has made a speciality of creating these English farm strips. Between the freeware and payware releases he's done there must be hundreds of them...

Yea I have that and it fills in some gaps in stock MSFS, but tbh there are better freeware versions of some of the places. Abergavenny for instance has a freeware version that is far more accurate on flightsim.to

DID YOU KNOW: That if you have installed MSFS but then, for whatever reason, have had to remove MSFS from your PC you must purchase it again. The installation key is only good for one install. You read this right. ONE install. So now, after spending over $240, I have MSFS 2020 on my PC again, hoping that nothing goes wrong with it or my PC. 🤕 😰

I suspect you haven't fully explained your situation, perhaps you could elaborate?

Perhaps you actually changed to a new PC? and your purchase key didnt work as its tied to your hardware (window worked like that for a short time, I forget what version)

Thrustmaster TPR is the only real choice, in terms of something that actually looks and works like real rudder pedals.

Rather a a definitive statement and not true. Every Airplane Ive flown irl except an rv8 (not that many I'll admit) had the pivot point below the actual pedal..the reverse of the TPR.

All went smoothly here as well, after I'd re-installed 6 planes that I'd deleted because I never fly 'em. They must be used in some of the missions with this update.

It warned me about not having the A310 Installed but it didnt make me re-install it. Im often puzzled that different users get different things happening in this sim (unless its different version I have store/PC version)

  8. Thanks Randy, my current pedals also use their own port and I have a seperate joystick and throttle (not a yoke user) so not a problem.

But its all on hold for while now as I just spent half an hour in the workshop and courtesy of a soldering Iron, some super Glue and Bicarbonate of soda my pedals live again, Ill remember your comments when they get beyond fixing

  9. First pedals I ever  had were the CH Products, back in the days when everything was old dsub serial port connected, but thats so long ago I cant remember how good/bad they were.

Ive looked at the tfrp ones, but no way am I paying £400-£500 which is what they go for over here in the UK (amazing you can got them for what works out at just over £100 Randy, id buy a set for that straight away)

  10. For a few years now I've been using a set of Saitek Rudder pedals, they've never been any more than adequate but now the plastic is starting to crack in places and last night the left brake stopped working.

So im looking for some new pedals, the prices I've seen are like everything today..... shocking, but nothing I can do about that.

Anybody got recommendations?, 90% of my time is in light taildraggers so they get a lot of use
