  1. To Nwanerka; How many setups do you have? I see the first set of pictures with a large screen as a monitor. Plus flight controls hardware. Then a second group of photos with a 3 monitor screens and flight control hardware. I am not Dear Abby nor do I try to be. But maybe focus on one primary setup and help keep the expenses down.

That first setup looks complete to me. But I have fun flying without any of the panels or switches or rudder pedals.

I have 2 setups. The 1st setup is at my office and I do have Is flight controls with autopilot, radios, And switch panel Is with petals and a yoke and throttle controls. All of the stuff that you see with the 3 monitors at my office was all my dad's old stuff. He passed away about 4 months ago so my mom gave me all of his.

My main set up is at my house where you see the big curve TV and flight panel. That 1 is my baby, it has taken me many years to save up and buy each part it has almost everything that I want including a trim wheel, 2 radio stacks, A switch panel, Is an auto pilot panel, 6 saitek fip screens, a gns 530, a true cessna throttle fuel and prop Controls, the yoke and peddles. A trackir 5 and an oculus quest 2 vr headset, And some other items i am probably missing. .

My goal is to get rid of the curved TV and get 3 or 4 32" or larger good monitors. I only got the large curved TV because Samsung quit making curve Tv's so Best Buy was almost giving it away. I picked that up for under $500 brand new 5 months ago.

Also the people that make The flight panel that all my peripheral going to are located and based right out of Flagler County and Florida where I live I live and I worked out some deals since they needed electrical work done and I am an electrical contractor here. I happen to lock out and my wife saw their return address and I almost didn't believe it lol based right out of the airport that my dad used to fly out of with his cessna 172.

My wife put a stop on spending money cause if you add up everything that I have bought over the years, it would be over $10,000. (That is including flight sim programs , paid add ons and paid planes. Also my monthly subscription to navigraph

  2. Wow! That's a good looking setup.
Thank you very much. Instill have a long way to go. I am playing around with 3 to 4 monitors to make 1 large monitor and wrap it like a Cockpit. I'm going to try some pawn shops soon. The problem is all 3 or 4 monitors have to be the same exact size and specs. Ideally the same brands or it doesn't work quite right. They also have to be decent monitors or it look like crap. Right now I picked up that 65" Samsung curve TV as you see in the picture. I just got that 4 months ago or an amazing price from Best Buy. Since they stop making curve T v's because they're not exactly as great as they were advertised, I picked that 1 up for $568!!

But honestly I would love to have 3 to 4 32" decent monitors. That is the dream but it will probably have to wait.

Right now at my office I have to set up a 3 22" monitors and made it made it one large monitor through through the video cards editing and then 1 large 65" TV on the wall that I use for maps that is hooked up to A computer also. So the computer looks at it as just 2 monitors and not 4. Still in the process of building and moving into my new office so that's why it's a crazy messf4505599146b6291f0ec25dc53266168.jpge8f2b56d0d4c58b5d8685b3877e813d3.jpg

  3. It's getting there, this is many years in the works. Saving up money where I can find one piece at a time. I'm at the point though my wife will not let me spend any more money. It was either get the GNS430 so then I would have the 430 and 5 30 as I already have the gns 530 by real sim, or Stop buying peripherals and Use that money when I want to buy something fsomething from the Microsoft store like I just did. I just got the $59.95 Reno expansion pack.

The thing is I work all the time, I run my own electrical business and put in a good 80-100 hours a week. I never spend money on myself, never getting anything extranything extra. I always bring my lunch to work. I tried to make a pair of work boots or jeans last for years. I am always making sure my wife and daughter don't go without and always have what they want 1st. Many years I made sure that my wife and daughter were taken care of for Christmas and they bought me nothing. But that was on purpose I told them not to and was very adamant about it to save money, So now my wife tells me it's my turn. My daughter is a freshman in high school and we already have college paid for as we started saving from the day she was born. So my wife looks at it this way, I work so hard for the family that this is something I really truly enjoy. We can't really afford real flight lessons at the moment so this is the next best thing. After my daughter is out of the house the house and done with college then then I will start flight training for my Private pilots licensea7ac125231271a770f2efd106c79b31a.jpg7f73243d9abfc990979e2334e330fe74.jpg9ef6a588a8da823faccaed8f900d718e.jpga9e95ca12acfa3593b1f80b343f75336.jpg50d210f4e8213c698f615d1393599658.jpg

  4. Maybe just maybe they finally got the download updates right.

But now saying that out loud I probably am jinxing myself. Everything went smooth on my computer at my office. Even bought the $59.95 Reno expansion pack and that's almost done downloading too.

Next I will try to do the Google map mod so it will use Google maps instead of Bing.

Hopefully once I get home later tonight it will run just a smooth on my home rig.

I only have a couple SIM peripherals At my office, a yoke, throttle air mixture and prop Controls, peddles, radio panel, and auto pilot panel and switch panel.

At my house I have almost A SIM cockpit done.. I have the complete flight panel with everything including 6 fip's, trim wheel, real cessna throttle air mixture and prop Controls, gns 530 trackir 5 ect...

My work rig is just to blow off some steam here and there, My home rig is where it is at.

Just hoping when I get home it goes as smooth

  5. Lol thank God.

I can't wait for the skymaster to be available and for reno air races...

I am also trying the Google maps mod from flightsim.to. I watched the tutorial and it looks super simple to try. It looks so much better and if I don't like it or it does not work, I did not have to delete anything or have to revert back to Bing. It looks pretty easy (said every electrical helper his first day lol)

  6. I am with you. I use the 172 with the steam gages and the gns530. But hardly use the GPS. I rather fly using my instruments old school style style and tuning in my navigational radio et cetera et cetera.

At some point I'm going to need to learn to use the Gns 1000 I've just been putting it off. I'm waiting for the skymaster to come out and knowing that everything is going to a glass cockpit they're probably going to slap one in there also instead of doing it the way it was meant to be with the steam gage

If you look at the picture I attached I'll always have my setup with steam gages even if even if the plane comes with the glass cockpit release I have my own flight panel to try to work around it0cd5006cb6473357f516a85ee2c415ff.jpg3f85582856364e34c45a461096bef380.jpg

  7. Yes i have also noticed this. Before I could start up msfs2020 In a matter of a couple minutes. Now I start up msfs2020 and walk away. I will leave my computer room and sometimes come back 7 to 10 min later and it is still loading.

Then with the flights. I used to have very smooth flights and now it is a bit choppy. The worst is now when I take off in the cessna 172, the second I leave the ground my plane is all over the place. I have to get it back in line, which I do but it makes it look like I have no idea what I am doing and my takeoffs look horrible .

I am a very big supporter of msfs2020, I have been there since day 1 and have had the ups and down of each update, but come on now. By now these small things should have been taken care off.

  8. Thank you very much I've worked hard on this set up and have even improved on it since.. I save up little-by-little and by what I can per. That is many years of scrimping and saving But definitely worth it now. My next adventure has been VATSIM, Which I absolutely love. It's a little nerve racking when I'm getting an IFR clearance and have to repeat back all those directions breakfast. I don't understand how some guys remember all that and spit it right back out out I must be doing something wrong. But I will figure that out. Didn't quite understand why Microsoft made it so hard to find the download up for the new update yesterday. I had to do so many different things many different things I couldn't even repeat what I did to find it but luckily I did and it downloaded fast. Happy flying everybody hopefully one day will get an answer on TV or monitor and how to tweak them just right
  9. I'm with you, I don't get insulted either. I only said that because about 2 weeks ago I was trying to give some suggestions and the guy that was asking for help basically ripped me a new one, saying he was so insulted and what do I think he is and idiot? Of course he tried that.... so on and so forth.

Another idea is that I know that it also depends on where you live, like thw east coast, west coast, Europe, ect.... I know what Microsoft tells us what time it comes out where you live, but so far every update and I mean from day 1, they have always been wrong. I live in Florida (east coast, USA- eastern standard time) and I have never been able to download thw update until around 4pm eastern time.

Where do you live? Maybe wait until 4pm your time and see what happens.

I know sometimes it is so hard to wait .. believe me I know but so far since the beginning that is what works for me.

Good luck and keep us posted

  10. I know you probably already tried this so please don't take it as an insult just trying to throw ideas out there.

But after you reset your computer your computer did you try to open up Microsoft light simulator and let it do its thing where it says checking for updates and then able to direct you automatically. It has happened to me before where I knew the update was out so I went right to the Microsoft store and it said the same thing.. that everything was up to date.

Then I shut Everything down, restarted my computer computer and opened up Microsoft light simulator like I was going to Normally and when the screen popped up that said checking for updates it then downloaded is loaded a small 500Mb file (or whatever) And then automatically redirected me to the Microsoft store where then it said it could be updated and then I had to update the 2GB do gigabyte update.

Good luck and I hope that helps, that's the 1st thing I'm doing when I get home from work today, Is download the update. Hopefully it won't take too long because I really want to fly want to fly and get on VATSIM. I have done q flights with vatsim and now I'm hooked .

Please keep us all updated and let us know how it goes good luck it may the flight be with you
