  1. You’re going to have to forget getting a new graphics card at the moment, unless you’re prepared to spend 2 or 3 times what they’re worth.

I would avoid eBay and similar sites, as scammers are listing loads of cards every day... usually from the Philippines or Ukraine... all cheap prices and postage free.

I’ve spent s lot of time reporting these to eBay over the last few days, but more keep appearing.

Then you’ve got the people listing “photos of graphics cards” again, it’s another scam.

I saw a few people posting just the "boxes" while clearly stating "No Graphics Card Included". Yet there were multiple bids on the auctions. One 6800XT Box was going for over $900.00.

  2. I decided to update the CPU in my PC so found a good deal on a 5800x that was in stock. Since present system is fairly well balanced between CPU and GPU, with the upgrade I figured the GPU would be lacking, so started looking for an upgrade there also. Finally decided to go "almost" all out and picked up a new 6800XT Black. Then after reading realized that to really use the new GPU that my existing motherboard only has PCie 2.0 slots and would bottleneck the 6800XT. So nw have to get a new 570X Asus board to make it all play nice.

Add the cost of all this to the Alpha and Bravo and this "Hobby" is starting to get expensive. Just don't tell me Wife ;)

  3. The stall speed of a 152 is 49kts, so that's about right.

That must be something to do with the help level being set to beginner level; that wasn't the "floating flaps" bug.

Help level is set to Medium. I don't fly the 152 except when I did the Training Lessons so I probably have the speeds wrong and confused with other planes. I had a friend over who had never done a flight sim before so was starting him in the 152 so as to not scare him off. He was quite impressed with MSFS and flying over his own house.

  4. I hadn't played with MSFS since about Christmas. I had a whole house full until New Years and then the wife and I both had Covid and lost most of January. Then the update issues started happening and I just waited until they were hopefully resolved, and also waitnnd patiently for me Bravo TQ. It was my understanding that the "Flap Issue" introduced a few updates back was taken care of, but after a flight yesterday I wonder. I took off in the standard 152, just to get a feel for things again, and when I reached 45 knots the game started telling me to lift off. The plane was "floaty" on landing also. I then tried the weekly landing challenge and that plane was hard to put on the ground also. I thought that this issue was patched already.
  5. Amazon has 3060s and 3070s available with delivery on Friday.

    There is a 3080 listed for $1,500.

I can't imagine why anyone would be so desperate to have a 3080 right now.

I'm chugging along fine with my 1080ti and I'll stay with that until cards equal to or better than the RTX 3080 are selling for $399 or so.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Why would anyone pay these outrageous prices to scalpers is beyond me. And the same goes for the people paying double for the Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo. I can wait until Feb15 for mine to ship for 250.00. My system is getting me on average 40fps so no way and I spending twice what the system cost just to go from High settings to Ultra. That is just insane.

  6. You can use your mouse wheel to scroll the VS wheel and any other control knob instead of clicking them.

I was trying that but it was haphazard in the way it was working. I changed the cockpit zoom to Right-click+wheel to help but now that coupled with what the update did to cockpit camera control and I just don't like it. I guess it is time to see if I can make the X-Touch midi work for AP controls. I just haven't wanted to spend the time to figure it out and also find a place to put it where it's handy around the yoke and throttle quad. I am just getting tired of Asobo breaking things that worked before.

  7. I know the feeling. I haven't taken a flight in 10 days now. The last update just so screwed with the control and the Hotfix didn't help that. And yes, it is set to Modern and all Sensitivities are set to 0% which is what was better for my setup before. I think about doing a flight but just can't seem to get the yoke, pedals, and throttle out and set up to do it. Just don't need the aggravation I guess. Here's to hoping that tomorrows update changes some things back to what they were.

ps, I know what you are saying about dumping a bunch of $$$ in this thing. $120.00 for Premium Deluxe plus all the added aircraft in the Marketplace. $250.00 for the Honeycomb Alpha and another $250.00 for the Bravo. Then another almost $100.00 for a midi controller and 2 different USB devices to make the X-Touch and my older CH controllers work correctly. Let's just say that I am done spending $$$ on this thing UNTIL it works correctly.
