  1. In addition to my previous post, just a general question for Flight Sim X Versus X- Plane 11. In my research to determine which flight sim to purchase it seems that X-Plane 11 is more realistic, and works better on Windows 10 (which I have), but I had issues just trying to download the free demo from X-Plane 11. Flight Sim X is from Microsoft (does that mean it would work better?), and it has 3 commercial aircraft, which I like. Not sure what commercial aircraft X-Plane has? The old Microsoft flight sim I had (maybe 2004, not sure which one) also had flying lessons, which I enjoyed. I already have the Microsoft Force Feedback joystick, which I understand will work with X- Pane 11 and Flight Sim X. Just need some more opinions (pro & con) on both systems before I purchase. Thanks to all who can give some additional feedback! Flyguy
  2. Thanks. Not sure what that really means, but that tells me then it may not be worth purchasing X-Plane 11 for my Windows 10 system.
  3. I have a new Windows 10 system on my desktop, and a new Surface notebook laptop. Tried to download the free X-plane demo on both. A message came up on my desktop, stating I need an "open GL 2.0 driver to run". Does anyone know what that means? Also tried opening the demo on my laptop, and it started to download, but appeared like it would take a few hours or so. Anyone have this issue for just a demo? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Flyguy
  4. Thanks for the links, but for some reason when I tried to download the free demo on my desktop (new Windows 10), a message window appeared that said "X-plane requires at least open GL 2.0 driver. I have no idea what that is, and I thought this was just a demo. I also tried it on my new laptop, and it said I do have enough space, but it seemed like it was going to take hours to download, so I cancelled the download on my laptop. Not sure what's going on. Any suggestions as it's just a demo? Thanks!
  5. Hi, I'm brand new to flightSim, and had just a few questions - I had Microsoft Flight Simulator (not sure what year, but it was a long, long time ago), but really enjoyed it, and did the flight lessons on it as well. It's been awhile since I used it, and I'd like to get a new version of a flight simulator. In the research I've done I really like the X Plane 11 simulator. It seems very realistic with the graphics and all. Will X Plane 11 work with Windows 10? And, will my Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick also work with X Plane 11, or should I get a new joystick? Lastly, does X Plane 11 have various commercial jets, and does it also have flight lessons? Thanks so much for any feedback! Flyguy
