  2. Yeah, one of my favorite things of having fs02 (which I rarely use anymore) was being able to max out graphics and keep the frames. And i never really noticed the dawn/dusk difference (alliteration not intended :D) between FS02 and FSX because like most people, I don't do much night flying. Sometimes I will set it right before dawn then take off to enjoy night scenery, then arrive at an easy day landing later. -Cobra
  3. Yeah, before recently buying FSX Gold and a new pc, I realized that no matter how many add-ons, the scenery and planes just will not be realistic, so I just come up with my own challenges to test myself. thanks for the reply. -Cobra
  4. Jeez, never checked this post in a while... I now have FSX Gold which someone sold for $3 (lol) running decently on a Windows 10 pro. bigphil38: I used to have a Dell XP, but mentioned earlier, I got a new W10. Ha, want some REALLY old stuff? They got everything back to the original and first sim here! https://fshistory.simflight.com/fsvault/downloads.htm Cheers, -Cobra
  5. Well, looks like used yoke prices are still about $150, way out of my budget. I only got the quadrant because it was $4. Too bad I can't use it... But thanks for the help anyways.
  6. So i did some more research, and it is actually a ps/2 connector, not s-video. But the throttle quadrant itself is really just a few pots and levers inside of a box, which does not include the actual driver/controller. Looks like nothing will be happening to this lever box... Thanks for all the help!
  7. Thanks for looking- Today I bought a Saitek throttle quadrant used, and it won't be detected nor will the power led turn on. It has an s-video connector, which seems to fit into both ports on my pc (mouse and keyboard). So do I have to attach it to a hubbed and s-video-armed USB controller, then to the pc? The only other Saitek controller that I have is a USB x52 throttle (no stick). The attached pictures might help. The last one has some red on it, labeling a part where the metal part is taller than the rest... that's normal, right? Or is it obstructing its connection to the pc so that you can only use it while plugged into other Saitek products? I'm really lost... Any help is appreciated! -TheAwesomeCobra
  8. "using a Logitech 3D Pro stick-and-throttle for quite a while..." Nice, I've felt one of those before. But it feels a bit too, eh... stiff for me. I like my cyborg 3d gold because of the way the spring feels, like if you pull it to a certain degree, it's light spring makes it easy to stay in that position. Same with my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2, I can't see any springs, but it has (had?) an easy "pull-and-stay" thingy to it. What happened with it is it fell (okay, fine, I dropped it...) on carpet and the old, brittle plastic broke on the "neck" (near the base). rip. and the yoke... yeah, it's hard to "hide" it from possible damage. I usually keep it back in a closet or a storage room to avoid it being broke like the sidewinder.
  9. Glad to see someone still using it. I'm thinking about upgrading to FSX and getting a new pc, my eyes are at their knees. Just wondering, what hardware are you using? (Joysticks, yokes, etc...) I have a cyborg 3d gold joystick, saitek x52 throttle, and a ch products yoke. the yoke is sorta a funny story... It's from a thrift store for $14 :D
  10. The title says it all, anyone still running this dinosaur? Just wondering if i'm not alone.:) Sent via 2 tin cans & a string (My pc)
