  1. I just got the Alpha yoke myself. Great quality yoke but Honeycomb software is shit. I'm currently on the lookout for a better 3rd party programing/calibrator tool. If any 3rd party software developer is listening we could really use one. Every time a company makes their own programing/calibration tool they almost always suck at it.
  2. I am on the lookout for something that lets me properly program switches so up is on and down is off. Will this help with that? It just ticks me off how bad a job Microsoft did setting up button mapping. Its the one big gripes I've always had with FSX. It just baffles me that Microsoft decided to just shrug at the fact that some controls may have switches and set everything up as buttons even though real planes almost always use switches.
  3. Tried but the driver download link for FSX doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing Microsoft asked Honeycomb to render the FSX driver link useless to get people to upgrade to FS2020. Typical corporate BS. They only have the download link for FS2020 drivers that works. Is there some other way I can get the FSX drivers?
  4. Just got my first Honeycomb yoke today. Very impressed with the build quality. Its miles better than the Logitech POS I had before. I am just having a slight problem programing the switches to act as switches in FSX. I think the main issue is Microsoft never bothered to make the on and off function of an operation separate for example a function will be programable as on/off instead on and off. Is there some kind of workaround for this issue?
  5. Yes I know. I did try FS2020 shortly after it came out but felt let down. It was as if Microsoft threw everything they knew and learned about FSX out the window and needlessly stared from scratch. I did not like the new interface they came up with at all, ATC STILL sucked and programming buttons somehow got even worse. It also performed horribly on a laptop that ran FSX with hardly any issues meaning Microsoft needlessly inflated the spec requirements to allow it to run decently on a non gaming PC. I felt FS2020 was more targeted to gamers on Xbox who never have picked up flight simming than people who just want a good realistic and easy to use flight sim for their PC. They were more focused on using FS to make money off gamers rather than making a good successor to FSX to the people who have been dedicated to the hobby for years.
  6. I think FSXSE is long overdue for a full and complete overhaul update but unfortunately seems to have taken a backseat development wise since FS2020 came out. I think they should try to fix and completely update FSXSE to really make it so much better at least once since the first time it came out. Global textures could really use a fix and update(improvements such as more realistic roads and scenery updates etc.) and the ATC is still a mess that can be fixed/improved with enough effort and general bugs such as the ones with DirectX 10 are in desperate need for a fix. Also the user interface could use an overhaul as well they could also add features such as custom functions for addon aircraft and the abilitiy to better program a button to operate like a switch, better ways of mapping reverse thrust for the aircraft that do have it and they can and should finally get rid of that pointless homepage. Anyway those are just my thoughts and suggestions for FSXSE improvements. Please feel free to add your own in the comments below.
  7. My progressive taxi no longer seems to appear even when I have it on. Sometimes a brief blue flash of the progressive path will appear but disappears within a second. I tried doing a clean reinstall with no addons to see if that may have been causing the issue but it still persists after the fresh Steam reinstall. Its annoying, inconvenient and frustrating to not have progressive taxi because unless you know the taxi ways like the back of your hand its nearly impossible to determine where you are supposed to turn since the control tower doesn't provide taxi directions on turning. I had to resort to guess work after most of my landings lately at some of the major airports. Anyone know of a fix for this?
  8. I'm starting to get the feeling this an issue with FSX more so than an issue with the addon. Its as if the default key command mapping program in FSX interferes with addons that have custom mapped features and the addons that has 3 or more keys to activate something and renders the function completely useless. I've experienced it with a payware C17 addon making it impossible to open the rear cargo ramp of that addon. I tried pressing every combination of the window curtain command and nothing works. Even tried deleting what I had to number buttons and the problem still persists.
  9. I recently got the Honda Jet freeware addon from FlyAwaySimulation but I can't seem to get the interior cabin window shades to open. I even tried editing the config to a simpler key command like Shift+W or something like that and it still won't work. There also seems to be no way to edit the aircraft config file so the window shades are open by default. Just has a bunch of effects and view config options and no animations options. Its a real bummer they are closed by default because its one of the few addons with an interior cabin passenger view and the whole point of switching to a cabin passenger view is to be able to look out the window. Does anyone know of or have a fix for this?
