I've been using the F-35C just because I'm more familiar with the cockpit and flight handling, but it sounds like I should try the Hornet. I'll try the F-18 on runways for a while until I get used to it. Actually, I think I read the F-35 uses the F-18 flight characteristics in it's modeling. So really, I just need to find everything in the Hornet cockpit.
Good tip on the "Crash" issue. I don't think I even looked at the "Crash tolerance" slider. I just had them all to the far right for realistic. I'll try it at 50% and see if that doesn't cut me some slack.
Someone asked the question of "where are the carriers?" Good question. The carrier is positioned using AICarrier (see above for where to get it). It's a very good freeware download. I like to work around Charleston AFB because I know the area well. And I place the carrier at an intersection, specifically ISLLE, CHS 298/25. This method usually sets me up for a 350 final approach course.
Thanks again for the help and the tips.
