What does the task manager say about RAM usage? The 1660 Super is a good card, but cannot handle high detail (ultra settings) and high resolutions. What settings are you using? MAybe dial them down a bit and see if that helps.

The notification you see indicates that someting is limiting your graphics output. That doesn't need to be the CPU, afaik the cpu also waits for the gpu to build frames. Still, are you running any other programs at thie same time?

Change to 1080p if you can, 1 monitor, and average graphics settings in MSFS. Let us know what happens.

I downloaded it without problems from the Marketplace two days ago. May be a capacity allocation issue.

Oh cr@p. I can't. I've been stuck away from home tending sick relatives (not too serious, thankfully) for over a week.... my laptop's too old (MS Surface Book 1) to run MSFS. Guys, now THAT sucks.

No paintbucket here.

 

But I found this interesting: The Forum rules (how many of us have read them?) make no mention of trolling. Do moderators go after the real trolls with the equivalent of yellow and red cards? If not, shouldn’t they?

For everything else, let us muse on the penultimate line of said rules: “revel in our many differences that makes this such a wonderful international community!”

I've got nothing against someone who is unhappy with a product stating why this is so. Not everyone is tech-savvy, not everyone is in their best of years, and we can all make a bad decision from time to time. Though there is a distinction between raising an issue and railing on about it in unending posts. The "Dude, just get over it!" point.

Having a forum named "Griping" won't work, I guess, because some of those posters actually want to be understood or helped. Someone may post something to shake your head at once, yet be downright helpful the next. Fine with me. We're a community, after all. All for one...

In addition, I would be more than happy if the inbuilt marketplace continued to get low traffic- 3rd party sites like the flightsim.com store need the revenue. Better for the ecosystem, better for us all.

Hi Graham,

you need to add yout computer specs- CPU, RAM, graphics, etc. You should also confirm whether your setup is otherwise completely stable, and that all your drivers and Windows 10 are up to date. Then, describe when, as well as you can, the crashing occurs.

If you can make it, I'm sure someone will (try to) fly it. But incidentally, does MSFS have an altitude ceiling?

Visited the offending allflightmods.com website for the first time. It looks well done, to me, and I suppose those running it will want it to grow in reputation. But I also think I saw the C-47 mod on the front page, under top 3 mods. Actually it must be the one, hust saw it says Credits: Manfred Jahn. They should be made aware that we all know there are such pirated mods there, and that we expect them to take them down. I’ve sent them a message via the contacts page to that effect.

Yep. I'd go with the 2060 or even 2060 Super. That way it has good chance of a life post-retirement of the current system.
