  1. AS16 should install a little folder named as_serv in your main FSX folder. Is it there? Jorgen
  2. I took a look at Customgatraffic.zip - it is not just GA, but also commercial traffic. Other GA flightplans - with repaints - can be found by searching for "Ultimate GA" both here and on Avsim. Jorgen
  3. The AMD vs. nVidia GPU, and the AMD vs. Intel CPU issues have been debated at length elsewhere. I would suggest we keep that debate out of this thread. From his initial post, I could assume the OP has a laptop, in which case he is locked in as to which CPU and GPU he can use, in other words he has to make do with what he's got. If he has a desktop, however, then he can get a separate GPU, but there's no need to go overboard and spend a lot of money on that, unless the desktop has a reasonably powerful CPU. It would be nice to know what the OP's exact hardware specs are. Jorgen
  4. Move to Prepar3D, which makes better use of the GPU. Otherwise there isn't a thing you can do. Jorgen
  5. Is there any member of this forum that also are members of UKMIL on their new system? I have been trying to register there, but there is a problem with the registration system, and I would like to get a message to their administrators about that. Thanks in advance - Jorgen
  6. Personal opinion: Thrustmaster HOTAS. It's a joystick and seperate throttle, rudder bar on front of the throttle. You can also choose to twist the joystick for rudder, or fix it so it's only for ailerons and elevator. Buttons galore on both parts. Costs about 50 EUR/55 USD. Jorgen
  7. I have never used DX10 myself, since it is a preview only. But, if you use it, I have read that there's a tool out there called "Steve's DX10 fixer" that should help you. Jorgen
  8. How come I have the feeling I am Dracula... living in a coffin (FSX), and then flying out of it to take a ride in the modern world (P3D), sucking the blood of the freeware developers all the way? Jorgen
  9. Certainly the Cray has been built, and a nice mainframe it is, however, I don't know if anyone has made a Windows emulator for it.... Jorgen
  10. As far as I know, such a computer hasn't been built yet. If it has, I would like to know who the vendor is. Jorgen
  11. The .AD4 file is your saved project, saved so you can work further on it. When you are satisfied with your project, then first save it again, then compile it. Compiling produces the .bgl file(s) that you add into your simulator. Jorgen
  12. For questions and support on ADE, you really should go to the official support forum, found here: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forums/airport-design-editor.95/ Jorgen
  13. I will second the two other gentlemen in welcoming you on board here, Tex. What version of FSX do you have, or plan to get? Maybe we could give you some pointers before you install... Jorgen PS: I know the feeling, Hossfly, and you have my sympathies....
  14. This way, the FTX aircraft should be seen when you add Sound and Panel. However, if you'll be able to fly them is another matter. You may have to replace the .air file with a suitable one you "borrow" from somewhere else. Jorgen
  15. When looking for something Dutch, go to the Dutch: https://www.nl-2000.com/ I have the whole nine yards from there, including the photoscenery of the Netherlands, and it works beautifully. I doubt if anyone can make a better EHAM. Jorgen
  16. Only 90 days of warranty? If this computer was new, it should come with more than that, or do I remember the warranty laws in the States wrong? Jorgen
  17. +1 to Active Sky and the Cloud Art. They work perfectly. Jorgen
  18. You are asking a question to which there is probably an infinite number of answers!!!!! :D But here's my personal recommendation, for what it is worth: It is very, very easy to spend a lot of money on payware stuff, but take a good look around before you spend you hard-earned cash and see if maybe freeware alternatives are available. You already got FreeMesh, so you know what to look for. A lot will also depend on whether you want to fly world-wide or locally somewhere. Personally, I don't use ORBX, and I don't use DX10 either (in FSX, DX10 is a preview only). But I would recommend the Ultimate Terrain series, it works fine with FreeMesh. Most of the rest of my scenery is freeware from the download library here and some other sites, like the BlueSky photoscenery for parts of the U.S. available here: http://www.blueskyscenery.com/download.html South American photoscenery is available here: https://boliviaescenariosfsxp3d.blogspot.com/ North African, Spanish and Portuguese photosceneries are available here: http://www.airhispania.com/phpBB3/index.php?sid=cdcdb9efb4ed689374e527ec868437b3 Undoubtedly, other forum participants can come up with more interesting links. Have fun - Jorgen
  19. If that was a new Dell computer that you bought, then I would certainly complain to Dell themselves. If it is their product, even if sold by a reseller, then their service department should be able to do something about it. But call Alienware HQ customer service first to give them a chance (keep a record of all calls and correspondence, even of the talks (or emails) you have had in person with the Alienware personnel). Michael Dell (yes, the founder and president of the company) has been known to answer customer service calls himself for quality assurance. He is proud of Dell's reputation and will do something about it. Please let us know about the developments. Jorgen
  20. Damn - what kind of a dealer is that? Not fixing the customer's issue? This is someplace you should avoid doing business with. Jorgen
  21. When you wrote that you have a Celeron processor and an Intel graphics card, I thought that you would have a laptop, where the graphics chip is on the motherboard. If that is what you have, then you are not going to get stellar performance, to put it mildly. The Celeron processor is a cut-down processor, mainly intended for office use (word processing and the like), the Intel graphics is intended for the same use, and your hard drive would be pretty slow. A setup like that will run FSX - barely, but just a few add-ons will bring it to its knees. I had one of these myself. Kosta's tweaking guide can be found here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?259352-FSX-P3D-Software-and-Hardware-Tweaking-Guide Jorgen
  22. There is definitely a conflict in the file, near the bottom: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDEA GeForce GTX1070.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.Microsoft Basic Render Driver.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Jorgen
  23. There once was someone in the FSX threads who had issues because he was running iTunes during a flight. Kind of the same issue when you want to watch videos during a flight. Now, my question is: which real-life pilot watches videos or listens to music during a flight? And my answer is: he does NOT, if he wants to remain a pilot, not to mention alive. Jorgen
  24. The "pain" of Steam will disappear once you get used to the wrapping. Jorgen
  25. Zocane, you need to get the 2-disk set working FIRST before you even start thinking of installing Acceleration. Jorgen
