  1. "something in V4 got corrupted"..... Simply not true. If something in v4 got corrupted, then everyone, including me, would have the issue. Jorgen
  2. I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS and have had no issue with in P3D v. 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5 with the hotfix. So not a P3D issue. Jorgen
  3. Subscription fee and lack of backwards compatibility will kill that for me. Jorgen
  4. This is a link to the support forum for this product: http://drzewiecki-design.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=403&start=615 Jorgen
  5. AS16 should install a little folder named as_serv in your main FSX folder. Is it there? Jorgen
  6. I took a look at Customgatraffic.zip - it is not just GA, but also commercial traffic. Other GA flightplans - with repaints - can be found by searching for "Ultimate GA" both here and on Avsim. Jorgen
  7. The AMD vs. nVidia GPU, and the AMD vs. Intel CPU issues have been debated at length elsewhere. I would suggest we keep that debate out of this thread. From his initial post, I could assume the OP has a laptop, in which case he is locked in as to which CPU and GPU he can use, in other words he has to make do with what he's got. If he has a desktop, however, then he can get a separate GPU, but there's no need to go overboard and spend a lot of money on that, unless the desktop has a reasonably powerful CPU. It would be nice to know what the OP's exact hardware specs are. Jorgen
  8. Move to Prepar3D, which makes better use of the GPU. Otherwise there isn't a thing you can do. Jorgen
  9. Is there any member of this forum that also are members of UKMIL on their new system? I have been trying to register there, but there is a problem with the registration system, and I would like to get a message to their administrators about that. Thanks in advance - Jorgen
  10. Personal opinion: Thrustmaster HOTAS. It's a joystick and seperate throttle, rudder bar on front of the throttle. You can also choose to twist the joystick for rudder, or fix it so it's only for ailerons and elevator. Buttons galore on both parts. Costs about 50 EUR/55 USD. Jorgen
  11. When looking for something Dutch, go to the Dutch: https://www.nl-2000.com/ I have the whole nine yards from there, including the photoscenery of the Netherlands, and it works beautifully. I doubt if anyone can make a better EHAM. Jorgen
  12. +1 to Active Sky and the Cloud Art. They work perfectly. Jorgen
  13. You are asking a question to which there is probably an infinite number of answers!!!!! :D But here's my personal recommendation, for what it is worth: It is very, very easy to spend a lot of money on payware stuff, but take a good look around before you spend you hard-earned cash and see if maybe freeware alternatives are available. You already got FreeMesh, so you know what to look for. A lot will also depend on whether you want to fly world-wide or locally somewhere. Personally, I don't use ORBX, and I don't use DX10 either (in FSX, DX10 is a preview only). But I would recommend the Ultimate Terrain series, it works fine with FreeMesh. Most of the rest of my scenery is freeware from the download library here and some other sites, like the BlueSky photoscenery for parts of the U.S. available here: http://www.blueskyscenery.com/download.html South American photoscenery is available here: https://boliviaescenariosfsxp3d.blogspot.com/ North African, Spanish and Portuguese photosceneries are available here: http://www.airhispania.com/phpBB3/index.php?sid=cdcdb9efb4ed689374e527ec868437b3 Undoubtedly, other forum participants can come up with more interesting links. Have fun - Jorgen
  14. When you wrote that you have a Celeron processor and an Intel graphics card, I thought that you would have a laptop, where the graphics chip is on the motherboard. If that is what you have, then you are not going to get stellar performance, to put it mildly. The Celeron processor is a cut-down processor, mainly intended for office use (word processing and the like), the Intel graphics is intended for the same use, and your hard drive would be pretty slow. A setup like that will run FSX - barely, but just a few add-ons will bring it to its knees. I had one of these myself. Kosta's tweaking guide can be found here: https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?259352-FSX-P3D-Software-and-Hardware-Tweaking-Guide Jorgen
  15. There is definitely a conflict in the file, near the bottom: [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDEA GeForce GTX1070.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Anisotropic=1 [DISPLAY.Device.Microsoft Basic Render Driver.0] Mode=1920x1080x32 Jorgen
  16. There once was someone in the FSX threads who had issues because he was running iTunes during a flight. Kind of the same issue when you want to watch videos during a flight. Now, my question is: which real-life pilot watches videos or listens to music during a flight? And my answer is: he does NOT, if he wants to remain a pilot, not to mention alive. Jorgen
  17. Zocane, you need to get the 2-disk set working FIRST before you even start thinking of installing Acceleration. Jorgen
  18. My third system was updated this morning, again no problems. I have been looking over a lot of threads, but so far have not been able to find any common issues with all the systems reported having troubles. All I can say for sure is that it works fine for me. Jorgen
  19. Tonight, at 7:00 PM local time (Central European), the much-vaunted Windows 10 October Update came my way. I have updated 2 of my 3 systems, and so far haven't seen any issues on either of them. The third will be updated tomorrow. Jorgen
  20. Well, come Wednesday my time I shall happily report how things went for me. Jorgen
  21. Actually, the Windows 10 October Update is not out yet. It will come out on Tuesday, October 9th, US time. Some other updates have come out, I have not seem any issues with them. A new nVidia driver update, in preparation for the Windows 10 October Update, came out yesterday. No problems with that. And it is totally futile to contact Microsoft for support of FSX. As far as they are concerned, FSX is an end-of-life product, and no support at all is available from them. Jorgen
  22. SE requires tweaking, just like the boxed version does - that's a matter of fact, not belief. Jorgen
  23. I didn't know you could download the Acceleration pack from anywhere...... Jorgen
  24. At least the boxed FSX Gold (FSX plus Acceleration) has multiplayer. Multiplayer is only enabled after registration. Jorgen
  25. CRJ, Up until 1864 Flensburg was Danish, and raw rum from the Danish West Indies was shipped here to be spiced or otherwise refined. After the Danish-Prussian war of 1864 the town and a lot of Southern Denmark became German, and part of that area returned to Denmark after a referendum in 1920. Today, the border with Denmark is about 6 km. north of the city centre, and a city bus runs up there every 20 minutes. A regional Danish bus line also comes down here. If you ever come to the area, then message me and I'll introduce you to the city and Flensburger beer - the one that goes "Plopp". Jorgen
