    Flight Sim puts an enormous load on your system, especially if you have a high frame rate. This can cause the CPU and GPU to overheat. If they get too hot, the BIOS will stop the CPU, so Flight Sim will freeze. But the sound card is independent, so it might keep going.

     

    You need to install something like SpeedFan (a free product) to monitor temperatures. If it is overheating, you might want to open the case and remove the dust from inside. If you are running this on a laptop, then SpeedFan might not be the way to go if your Windows install provides its own hardware management equivalent product, which you should then fire up instead.

     

    Now of course this may not be the problem at all. Particularly if you already have something like SpeedFan installed and know for sure that this is not the case. But it is always worth while investigating.
