  1. It's getting there, this is many years in the works. Saving up money where I can find one piece at a time. I'm at the point though my wife will not let me spend any more money. It was either get the GNS430 so then I would have the 430 and 5 30 as I already have the gns 530 by real sim, or Stop buying peripherals and Use that money when I want to buy something fsomething from the Microsoft store like I just did. I just got the $59.95 Reno expansion pack.

The thing is I work all the time, I run my own electrical business and put in a good 80-100 hours a week. I never spend money on myself, never getting anything extranything extra. I always bring my lunch to work. I tried to make a pair of work boots or jeans last for years. I am always making sure my wife and daughter don't go without and always have what they want 1st. Many years I made sure that my wife and daughter were taken care of for Christmas and they bought me nothing. But that was on purpose I told them not to and was very adamant about it to save money, So now my wife tells me it's my turn. My daughter is a freshman in high school and we already have college paid for as we started saving from the day she was born. So my wife looks at it this way, I work so hard for the family that this is something I really truly enjoy. We can't really afford real flight lessons at the moment so this is the next best thing. After my daughter is out of the house the house and done with college then then I will start flight training for my Private pilots licensea7ac125231271a770f2efd106c79b31a.jpg7f73243d9abfc990979e2334e330fe74.jpg9ef6a588a8da823faccaed8f900d718e.jpga9e95ca12acfa3593b1f80b343f75336.jpg50d210f4e8213c698f615d1393599658.jpg

Curious why your Throttle/Prop/Mixture controls are color coded backwards from "Standard"? (Normally, throttle is black, prop is blue, mixture is red.)

  2. Well said Larry! And looking at accident reports including one here in Ky., weight and balance certainly should be stressed more than they are in training.

A new pilot was so proud of his license he took three (3) of his buds up for a flight in a 152. He barely cleared some trees about a mile from the airport on takeoff.

Then stalled on final when he dropped his flaps as he would have when flying with his instructor. The flight resulted in one dead and three injured. And considering he was over a flat and treeless golf course at the time, it could easily have been four dead on many airport final approaches. Approaching SDF he'd might have crashed onto a heavily traveled Interstate Highway!:eek:

This must have a been a 172, since the 152 is only a 2 place airplane...unless he made 3 flights and crashed on each one!
