  1. Hi Everybody,

A few people are having issues with square lighting on their aircraft, I didn't have this issue myself... But I found an aircraft that did suffer from this effect in XP12b13, this allowed me to track it down and create a workaround.

This takeoff and landing in Tampa is just to check my fix, want to confirm it didn't mess up any of my other lighting edits while fixing the square light issue.

  2. Hi Everybody,

My lights are done, this is version 1.1 and contains a few additional edits. If you installed version 1.0 of my lights you just need to replace your lites.txt file.

This video was taken straight from the computer so my camera couldn't alter the look of the video. Sorry for the stutters and no audio, I'm flying XP12 and recording at the same time.

  3. Hi Everybody,

I finished my X-Plane 12 night lighting edits. All that's left is to check the dusk/dawn times of day to confirm no ill effects, create installation instructions and zip it up.

The camera (this video) makes the lighting look a bit darker than looking at the monitors themselves. The overall effect is far superior to that of X-Plane 12 default.

I hope you find this lighting edit useful, it will be available shortly.

    Thanks for watching!

  4. Hi Everybody,

My XP12 night lighting is just about done, just have to finish off the highways... they still need some adjustments. Only items adjusted to get this look are as follows: lites.txt, 1000_lights_close.png and nine urban FAR tiles. Side-by-side comparisons at the end of this short video.

NOTE: I'm not using re-shade or any lua scripts to get these views! Just using some text edits.

  5. Hi,

X-Plane has a demo option, why not try the demo to see if it's what you're looking for. Also look at your hardware, if you have the ability to run Vulkan or metal, you'd benefit in making the move from a dead platform like FSX to X-Plane.

  6. Hi Everybody,

I started work on my night lighting edit for X-Plane 12. As of right now, it's just a copy over from my XP11 re-shade night lighting edit, but I have a starting point.

This is what they looked like in XP11: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLXXV...

The new lighting in XP12 gives the look of reshade, without using reshade. I get to save some FPS there!

I will more than likely release these edits after XP12 beta has run its course.
