It depends really on your priorities. Simulation or prettiness. If simulation is your thing then Level D, prettiness then Level D. It is a shame that there are no more modern contenders. I look at how many 737's there are out there.
Yes, I agree completely.. I looked at both of them and decided not for me. Next I'll look at PMDG T7.
Thanks

Thanks Mallcott and Dogdish. I went ahead and purchased the Level-D as I had a deep discount since I owned the FS2004 version. I just don't think I can go back there after PMDG and other modern cockpits. So I'll take a look at CaptSim. I don't know any other sources, right?
Thanks

Hello all:
I am in the market for an extended range 767 cargo aircraft.
It appears that the choices are:
1. Level D 767
2. Captain Sim 767
I am looking for any advice you can provide.
I know the Level D is/was a good product in the day, but it is almost 10 years old and I wonder if the graphics is up to date with today's standard. The Captain Sim product is newer but I have no idea on the quality of the graphics and systems modeling.
I would be grateful for any input you would care to provide.
Thanks in advance,
Rick

Hi all:
Closure!
Thank you for your help everybody! The D finally rolled over on this and provided me a download update. I am very happy and have no complaints with the D. I don't see any reason to mention their name but is anyone has a need to know then please send me a private note and I'll let you know.
Thanks again,
Rick

Has anything been said about no free updates to the boxed users? Have you contacted the Developer about this?
Nothing has been said either way in my case but the developer is dragging their feet in providing an update to the boxed which I purchased earlier.

Hi all:
As we all know some addons come both in boxed version and in download versions, although this approach seems to be fading in favor of only downloads. Nonetheless, when I purchase a boxed version of an add on today and the developer continues to improve and fix the baseline for sale of future versions, should I expect to receive a no cost downloaded update for the installed box version? It seems that if the download original purchasers receive free updates, why shouldn't the boxed purchasers?
Thank you,
Rick

I love this thread. My personal enjoyment of FSing derives from several areas:
1. I enjoy fiddling with the rig and FS tweaks to improve the experience, although this does get a bit tedious.
2. I "own" a virtual "charter company" and fly bizjets and a Boeing bizjet all over the western hemisphere. I make numerous flights to small airports in the West Indies during the Fall and Winter, and numerous flights into small airports in the NE US and Canada. Right now I am in the middle of a EU swing with stops in London, Dublin, Helsinki, Brussels and now down into Egypt where I overflew the pyramids (couldn't find the sphinx), and the Aswan dam, which was a disappointment. On the way back to the US I'll stop in France and Dublin as the jumping off spot. Very interesting and fun. I google earth all the fields I'll be stopping at to see how realistic FS is. For instance the great pyramids were spot on lat/long.
This is truly a great hobby.
