    Two propositions:

    - You may try to deactivate the Navajo persistent damage modeling if it does not work anyway. Far shot: Is there any gauge entry in the panel.cfg (likely in window01) whose name indicates it controls the engine damage? Then you could deactivate/comment it out with "//"before the gauge entry.

    - Finally, may the power loss/skipping of the engine be enough warning that limitations have been exceeded?

    I mean, I don't think you absolutely want to kill the engine? ;) The idea behind RE was to force the pilot to respect limitations close to those of the real aircraft, and I believe that's your goal as well. But you're definitely welcome to use RE any way you like.
