Tyler, where are you seeing the ads you mentioned? On the Main Menu page or on the Forums as well? I've never the first ad ever on these forums. I use Firefox browser with Adblock+.

The message that told you your machine is infected is, of course, worrisome. Go over to MajorGeeks.com and post there to see if you can get some assistance. They lead people through cleaning all the time. Fair warning: MajorGeeks.com has some strict rules and guidelines they expect people to follow. So go there like a private, :-)
