  1. Yeah, you're right. I mistakenly typed CTD instead of BSOD. The above info from me should help with BSOD from MSFS. And for CTD with MSFS Davidc advice is solid.
  2. 22 year overclocker here. I concur with Nap's assertion. As for you lowering the CPU clock on your own, yes you can just do that BUT, unless you balance the other hardware,(mostly RAM speed, and other hardware factors) with your current lower clock you may still experience CTD's. If your BIOS has a reset to default setting easily settable by you, then thats prob the way to go and find another overclock guy. Basic pretty good overclock tutorials and other info about the subject can be found at tomshardware.com. Doing it yourself is prob best as it's not hard and what overclock you end up will heavily depend on the hardware not the skill of the overclocker for the type of overclocking you want to do.
  3. Two thumbs up. Zero issues here after many hours flown. It flies as expected with a nice built-in Flight Engineer that handles aircraft switches/settings for flight conditions (Pre-Flight, Engine Start, Accent, Crz etc.), if you so desire. Pretty much in line with the quality of all PMDG products.
  4. Community stuff Not Installed for me also. I have mostly Working Title mods in my community folder. They (CJ4, G3000, GX) appear to be working excepting the G1000 mod (Devs looking into it). The rest of the patch was uneventful for me.
  5. I have the steam version and it simply launches the MSFS launcher which then downloads/updates from the MSFS servers as far as I can tell. Steam occasionally patches their launcher for compatibility with the MSFS launcher, but the actual sim download is MS served.
  6. If the Ram Isn't running at the intended frequency or voltage it can cause tearing...take the ram out..re-seat it, go into the bios and chose the xmp profile of the ram. If that doesn't work remove one of the new sticks of RAM and see if the blanking occurs, and so on with the other new stick. You may have a bad stick. Other things to check in no particular order are: * Sometimes we dont get the cables reconnected all the way when re-assembling a box, so check your vid cable connections. * Sometimes we bump the video card when fiddling with something else inside. Check to be sure the video card is seated correctly. *Sometimes we guess :)
  7. I use real weather and the oscillation seems to occur when the weather updates or when I fly into a "new" weather area. Pretty sure it's a bug in the aircraft/AP. Yes, Ive had this happen too. Perhaps wait a few more seconds before re-engaging on the second try. Turning the AP off seems to allow the aircraft to reset itself trim-wise so the AP can fly it without "weird" data or limits that are causing the issue. Im just guessing tho at this point. :)
  8. I found turning the AP off for a few seconds, then re-engaging the AP and ensuring the correct manage modes are engaged seems to resolve the issue. A kind of AP reset.
  9. Some find removing the centre spring to be helpful with that particular model. Using small zip-ties to limit the "spring" in the spring sometimes helps also if the spring is easily accessible.
  10. This site my help you adjust your stick for MSFS. https://www.simvol.org/en/articles/tutorials/joystick-setup.html
  11. Had this happen to me. Quite spectacular. Solution: Turn off AP. Wait 3 seconds. Turn on AP. *Note - I was at CRZ ALT and it seemed to happen when the weather conditions changed slightly (I run real weather). I suspect either a new weather "area" or a weather update, changing the sim conditions sets off this bug.
  12. These people can probably help you after they have accessed how the MSFS patch has affected their version of the A320. *Tiger beat me by 3mins :)
  13. This link may help you. How to Calibrate Your Gaming Controller in Windows 10.
  14. It is probably best for you to install the drivers in the install default location, in most cases this would be your C: drive. Fs2020 on your D: drive should have no problem recognizing the Saitek Device.

  16. Yes, one can only hope that MSFlight learns from Henry Ford's mistakes and begins offering something for sale besides black, DLC perhaps. I know. Money changes everything. Until it doesn't.
  17. My "new market" demographic comment was sarcasm. I'll be more clear next time. Regardless of the demographic analytic, it seems to me a F2P game with a DLC business model should have DLC. Lots of DLC. That MSFlight doesn't atm, may be cause for concern in building brand presence and loyalty. "Before everything else, getting ready is the secret of success." - Henry Ford. Mith - "A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business." - Henry Ford.
  18. I explicitly said, "Not more as in FSNext. More as in the announced new title, new direction, new audience." I then expressed my disappointment with how they implemented the very rudimentary and (for some) pointless "features" they expect to bring 20 million new users (Joshua Howard's quote) in with eventually. Although I did comment that some of the performance idiosyncrasies were comparable to similar problems with FSX, this was merely a truthful operator observation, nothing more. A stripped down title, slow-release DLC schedule, features that are broken (latest patch), worthless, or implemented in a poor manner all combine to sour the "new" experience for me. As I have said before, script kiddies running EMUs have demonstrated more gaming theory, creativity and innovation than a multimillion dollar studio. This is why I said they can do better. A f2p game with a serious lack of DLC is a problem whether Microsoft recognizes it or not. One might even wonder if the supposed "new market" demographic research has taken into consideration that 8 to 13 year olds probably don't have much disposable income. Either way, the lack of available content for Flight in a variety of forms for users who do have money to spend could be interpreted as a foot meet bullet situation for Microsoft. That is disappointing and demonstrates a lack of forethought by the powers that be.
  19. I want to like Flight, I really do. Because the title is from one of the largest software companies in the world I expected more. Not more as in FSNext. More as in the announced new title, new direction, new audience. What we got is FSX-Hawaii (ATM), done up with some quality add-ons. While the game doesn't look "bad" I don't see anything state of the art or innovative at all. The game looks about 4 years old and counting compared to others. This is disappointing. Completely empty Hawaii is disappointing. I'll get to multiplayer in a minute. Yes, some performance gains have been found. On my system at everything maxed (yay) it runs pretty well with some familiar FSX quirks and peculiarities, but that is to be expected on any game/sim of this type. I'm not going to harp on the few technical flaws, they'll get it ironed out eventually, they'll have too, simple as that. The marriage of RPG elements with a Mission/Achievement/Award system is interesting. Unfortunately it appears they have copied only the basic mechanics for these features, leaving the compelling aspects behind. For example, as you accomplish missions/jobs/goals and receive awards/rewards (paints?!?, C'mon Man!) these "features" actually do nothing to better your in-game character or the equipment your character is flying. In-game character advancement (and loot) is the cornerstone of a good quest (mission/job/achievement) system. This implementation is rudimentary and disappointing, I'm looking forward to some tweaking in this area. A Maul Autopilot comes to mind after 10 hrs in-game flight time (doh!). Microsoft will need to get some creativity flowing for this to go anywhere. Along those same lines, Flight multiplayer. Someone please explain the point. Where are the "social" tools? Where are even the basics for a vibrant online community to thrive in? Quick Match is about as Skip to Waypoint as you can get in the "Live" arena. Please, Microsoft Studio guys and gals, you can do better. If you need some ideas, ask. They're trying something new here so version 2 will probably be a more mature offering as they learn, if they choose to do so.
  20. I guess pics don't show this way. Check your PMs.

  21. In my response to your questions the last line should read "... settings or monitors".
  22. Lifes a bitch and then you die. Oh ... and you can't take it with you. Cheer up, the pain ends.
