  1. Textures sizes in FSX need to be a power of 2 (256x256, 512x512, etc..), if not they'll show up black. So that could well be your problem. I'm not familiar with paint.net, but I'm sure it has some resize function to get it down to 2048x2048. Wim
  2. I have the aircraft installed, never repainted it though. The picture shows that the wings are textured: the aircraft.cfg/texture folder combo is OK. So the problem is with the other textures, which are all in one file main.dds. So either you misspelled the name of that file (very unlikely) or the file is saved in an incorrect format. It should be DDS DXT5. What tools did you use to make your repaint? And in what order? Wim
  3. Neither do I. What I do care: on May 5th 2022 I payed 60 USD for a three year First Class Membership subscription. Since the new forum software was implemented, I don't see any visible proof of it anymore. I want to know where my money went. So in a way, I also care "how well the forum goes about it's business". Wim
  4. It isn't until lately I started wondering what happened to my First Class Membership, when I saw the badge applied to another user's avatar but not to mine. I wonder if all (if any) existing First Class Members were correctly transferred from the old to the new forum software. Could someone enlighten this? Wim
  5. Just for the record: the correct syntax is HideInfoText=1 or HideInfoText=0 (default). BTW Some RW airplane crashes are confirmed to be caused by disabling warning systems (more spefically by popping circuit breakers). Wim
  6. The attachment contains the replier's fsx.cfg. This file has hardware specific sections, and can simply not be transferred from one computer to another as a whole. Same goes for tweaks: what works on one pc, may not on another. Be careful. Wim
  7. When going from FS2004 to FSX, MS discontinued quite some gauge types. You might get it installed manually, but you won't get it working. Not worth the effort. Wim
  8. I suspect this is a P3D question? AFAIK and to my regret AI Manager abandoned FSX. Wim
  9. I found them directly when googling "Rwy 12 Object Libraries" and "EZ Scenery Libraries". Wim
  10. Some usefull stuff in this old thread. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?311086-I-love-my-TrackIR-5&p=2046988#post2046988 Wim
  11. You can get this by disabling the Virtual Cockpit. In the aircraft’s model folder, edit model.cfg. Delete the line starting with interior= Make a backup first! Wim
  12. In the Steam Launcher (Library) : Right-click FSX:SE -> Manage -> Browse Local Files Once you've found the folder, you may want to add a shortcut on your desktop. Wim
  13. What happened to this thread https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?340662-What-can-I-run-on-windows-10 ? Not that I care. More threads ending undetermined than others nowadays. Wim
  14. That’s strange, because the Youtube link refers very specifically to the dotNET version of AiCarriers (no Java required), which should also run on FSX:SE. Wim
  15. From the link you've given: About AICarriers2: Download link in the YouTube description. As it's a carrier, one surely needs FSX Acceleration or FSX:SE. I'm sure one can program routes for it as well, just like the default carriers. Wim
  16. Those files are backup files of aircraft.cfg, made by "some" addon installer. They reflect how the .cfg file looked before the installer did his thing. They will most probably be used again by the uninstaller of that same addon. By studiously comparing the .cfg and the .cfg.fsf_VFX_PFX files, one might be able to determine what installer created these files. Looking at the extension, one might suspect it has something to do with effects. As the file isn't just plainly called aircraft.cfg, it isn't treated as such by the sim. Wim
  17. Downloaded and installed it after all. The chopper loaded with engines and rotors running (my default flight is the Cessna with engines started). Manual flight is OK, very stable. Didn't try any AP. I did notice the addon requires Acceleration. I hope this helps, Wim
  18. I don't have that chopper, just had a look at the pics on that page. Not an expert, but have you tried those red/yellow levers coming from the overhead? Wim
  19. I does (Dutch is my native). Most important: it's outdated (from 2008!), the Aviodrome Museum stopped supporting the package since, the link to the support site is dead. Wim
  20. Unfortunately you're right. I found this disappointing description on the Flight1 product page. OTOH I have a Livery Pack that bundles lots of freeware liveries (including an auto-installer). As all of it's content can be found somewhere on the net (including this site), and it requires the registered payware version, I don't think there's a problem in sending it to you. I'll be in touch. Wim
  21. Yes, you are wrong. It's genuine FSX. One of the modelers was Jan Visser, who made the VC for Manfred Jahn's C-47. Wim
  22. As always, he thinks he wants to see the [fltsim.x] sections of the textures that are not adding . This is the folder of my DC-2. Nothing special about it. No limitations on adding textures, as long as you follow the rules. The items off screen are all texture.xxx folders (34 in total). My aircraft.cfg has 40 [fltsim.x] entries (different texture/panel combos). Wim
  23. Those are symptoms of a stall. Probably overweight (check the loadout screen). Wim
  24. Glad you got it working! I think the problem from the other thread is now solved as well? Wim
