  1. My wife's only complaint is that she asks me to turn it down when he goes to bed. There's three walls between our bed and my sim, so I KNOW she can't hear it, but it's her little dig...
  2. Let's face it, the beauty of FS9 (IMO) was the incredible amount of aircraft and airport add-ons. I have every commercial aircraft and every livery known to man-kind. And most are of excellent quality. So I'm wondering if we'll see the same amount in the FS2020. And if so how long it will take. Don't get me wrong, I like the 787-10. But I'll still want my 757s and 777s. And here's my BIG question....will 2020 have wing view options akin to what FS9 active camera had.
  3. I for one am skeptical that frames will be any good. Even WITH very high end machine. I get 60 fps on FS9 so I've never moved off it. If I could get same with 2020 even having to spend a lot on a machine, I'd gladly spend the money. But after what I have seen on FSX and P3D I'm just skeptical. But fingers crossed.

Have you tried Blue print KEWR. I have it. It kicks fanny!!!! If it isn't avail on their site (meaning they don't offer FS9 version, write to the support forum. They may sell it to you.
  5. I made some adjustments in the cfg to the lift on the flaps. Helped a little. And now I only extend the flaps when I'm in level flight. I'll level at 7000 ft for example, extend flaps, then start down again. But I'll look for the new fde panel
  6. While we're on the subject - to best of my knowledge active camera is no longer available for purchase. I'll assume that also means getting an updated code if you want to reload it if you had to. That makes me mad if true. The developer should offer a permanent code if you have already purchased it. I'm afraid if I ever have to reload FS9 to new computer I won't ever have it again. And active camera is my life> DBS walk/follow not as good cause it picks up outside sounds. There is a third party A320 panel that slows you to preset internal views but simply not as convenient as active camera. I would think this is such easy programming that someone else would invent another version but I guess nobody is really supporting FS9
  7. I for one am very skeptical that 2020 will make me move off FS9, for many of the reasons stated above. It my be 16 year old technology but I'm still amazed at how really great it is. If only MS had just taken the FS9 version and upgraded it while allowing all the add-ons. But I know that's naïve. If I find that 2020 can be as smooth as FS9 is on my high-end computer (doubtful), and the add-on planes and airports were as good, I'd gladly spend thousands to upgrade. But I'm betting the stuttering alone will keep me from buying in. I'm still miffed that the later version of Flight Sim don't offer as smooth an experience FPS wise, but it's been enough to keep me away.
  8. Gang, I've been doing a lot of long flights lately (Dubai to NYC, etc). Flights that are 12 plus hours long. And this obviously requires me to be away from my sim for long periods, like, to sleep. I notice that the sim goes into pause mode sometimes, and that screws up my whole flight if it happens while I'm away. I went in and changed my computer settings to never go to sleep. But I think that might just keep my computer from shutting down when the sim pauses for a long period. But I'd like to keep the sim from pausing in the first place. Is there any way to prevent this in the settings? Or is this just another example of "smart" computers not being so smart after all.
  9. Interesting. I guess the question is, once you download it, that means you can reload anytime you need to? As in, if you ever have to re-install AC or you buy a new computer. I'm kinda let down by whoever created AC cause if they were going to walk away from it there should be a code that is permanent, meaning it always works, vs having to go back and get a new one from him. I know there were no promises, and I know those of us sticking with FS9 are finding less support and fewer add-ons. I get it. But still. Anyway, thx for the tip, I'll try it out.
  10. Gang, did I see somewhere that active camera is no longer avail/supported for FS9. I can't find it on simmarket anymore and may have read somewhere it isn't avail anymore. How disappointing. My whole love affair with FS9 is the ability to go "sit" anywhere I want in the plane, next to the engine, behind the wings etc. Can't do that without active camera. And I know the other add-on "walk around" or whatever it's called is an option but that picks up the sound from outside the plane. It's simply not as good an experience. I still have active camera loaded. I'm just afraid some day if I need to reload FS9 or I want to buy a new computer that I'll lose the ability to roam the cabin.
  11. Hi Gang - quick question. I odten use my TDS Boeing 787. IMO, it's the most realistic freeware plane there is. A comparison of it and a photo of the real deal is just amazing. BUT, I do notice that when I switch from cockpit view to window view or spot view, it takes a second or two for the textures to load. For example, the engine in wing view will be greyed out when I toggle back to it from cockpit view, or in spot view it'll take a second or two to load the full fuselage textures. Not a big deal, but what's interesting is that on my Overland aircraft (777 or A320s for example), there is not that hesitancy to load textures. They pop immediately. I have a i7 computer and a strong graphics card. This leads me to believe that there must be more detail in the TDS textures than the Overland. BUT, its not like Overland textures aren't great. They are. Equally as good. So curious as to why the difference.
  12. are you referring to "the blurries" or specific third-party scenery. Normally as you fly anything in the distance is blurry until you get closer. Unfortunate part of FS9 and it's the case regardless of computer strength or graphics card. But if you're referring to something more specific I'm not sure.
  13. Gang - was loading a flight today and was trying to match real weather in SFO. I selected full overcast and 5 or 10 miles visibility. And it kept crashing FS9 and the program would start. If I left visibility as unlimited it would be fine. I've selected 10 mile visibility before. Any idea why the visibility would crash the system.
  14. Gang - I love the TDS 787-10. But I'm noticing that when you begin to extend flaps on approach, the plane goes into a serious nose down pitch. It will slowly adjust back up, but still stays down in an unrealistic manner. I've tried to reduce the flap extension times so they extend in shorter increments. No help. The I reduced something in the aircraft cfg. called pitch_scalar, thinking that reduce the flaps' impact on pitch. No help. I did a search in google and there was reference to an updated FDE for the 787-8 awhile back, but I can't use that for the 787-10. Anyone have any ideas. It's very unrealistic and kinda ruins an otherwise great airplane
  15. Hi guys, I wasn;t sure where else to post this question in the forums so figured I'd drop it here. I'll assume you all have seen the announcement on Microsoft's new sim coming in 2020. Obviously my first skepticism is that I won't be able to get a smooth 60 FPS like I do now on FS9 on my high end computer. But the announcement mentions it will be available on X-Box. Does X-Box provide a better opp for better performance??? I'm often amazed at my kids' games they play there and how the performance is so good with real fancy graphics. I'd spend thousands on a new system if I could get 60 FPS on this thing when it comes out, but I'm skeptical.
  16. Sascha. It appears in the note above that you were able to get Mark the EVO 2018. How can I get my hands on it.
  17. Hi Sascha - can't find where to download this and can I ask, if you do download it, does it override third party scenery, like a BlueSim or ImagineSim airport?
  18. Hi guys, this is the first I'm hearing of FS9 EVO. Needless to say I'm thrilled. BUT???? Let me ask, how does it impact third party airports we may have loaded (Imaginesim, BluePrint etc). And you say go to our regular download places. Mine is Flightsim.com. I'll assume it's here?
