Will do, Mr Zippy.

Sorry guys, that's not the answer in this case. In the second flight I was actually in communication with them and had just acknowledged an instruction. In both cases the transmissions stopped without any options other than nearest airport list.
At first I thought it might have been because of a change of scenery, but that wasn't the case. The only common factor was the fact it was the same flight plan (but a different aircraft), so I'll try it tomorrow with a fresh plan.

Hi all,
Why would my ATC stop transmitting part way through a flight? 2 totally different aircraft, different places, but both sometime into the flights. In the 2nd case, for example, climbing through 200 I get an instruction to climb to 28,000. I have no option to allow me to acknowledge the instuction, only "Nearest Airport List" and no further transmissions. It's only just started doing this. In the first case I was just approaching my given Flight Level of 310.

I've tried running gaugeexp.zip but get an error message saying I need to instal Net Framework ver 1.1.4322. I follow the on screen instructions and downlaod and instal the version indicated in the downloads, but keep getting the same error message.

Thank you. Seems to be what I need.

Hello all.
Is the a program, that will delete any or all of the gauges that are not being used?
Thanks.
Allan

IL, I stand corrected. Thank you for that.
And Piet, that might be useful.

Thanks, people, but please ignore this request. I found that in Flyawaysimulation there is a more comprehensive installation instruction. All sorted now.

Hmmmm.
Would you believe, I've been writing flightplans for nearly 20 years - and I didn't know that. I thought that every aircraft had to have a unique number but began to realise perhaps not, this afternoon, whilst compiling some A380 FP's. And now you've confirmed it. Doesn't it make life so much easier. lol. Thank you.

This is from a FreeMeshX scenery file. Below follows the installation instructions that were included.
The FreeMeshX regions consist of a long list of .bgl files.
Now, I can't make head nor tail of these instructions. Can someone please talk me through it, a step at a time? I would be grateful.
Note that it says that incorporated are new installers. There aren't. So I'd apprciate a little help, here.
FreeMeshX should be placed above the default terrain entries in the Scenery Library, and below any airports or FTX Regions or landclasses.
Updated torrents should be released in the upcoming week (as of 07/29/2017).
CHANGELOG ADDITIONS:
07/29/2017 2.0
- Incorporated new installers and an automatic downloader to easily fetch installers over HTTP
- New installers are up to date with all previous patches (1.01 - 1.07)
- High-resolution 50 GB USA mesh now available through sign-up beta process
Hypothetical scenery library order:
1 FreeMeshX - Patches
2 FreeMeshX - Africa
3 FreeMeshX - Antarctica
4 FreeMeshX - Asia
5 FreeMeshX - Australia and oceania
6 FreeMeshX - Europe
7 FreeMeshX - North America
8 FreeMeshX - South and Central America
Of course, your real load order will be different, but you must keep FreeMeshX - Patches always above the FreeMeshX regions.

Hi.
Is there a program that will list all AI aircraft in my flightplans. To INCLUDE aircraft numbers. AIFP3 does it, obviously, but doesn't list the numbers.
Many thanks
-
Yes, that's exactly what I didn't do. lol
Sorted now. Thanks, John.
-
I read that it's better to put AI aircraft in a separate folder. I did this by putting an AI Aircraft folder into the Simobject folder but everythime I do this I get the "Aircraft Not Available On This System" message in AIFP3. Am I doing something wrong?
Allan
-
Thank you, IL88.
I shall have to read through that again to make sure I understand it.
Take care.
Allan
-
No, IL88, the airport lists were not errors. Every time I created a new flight plan I seemed to come up with missing airports so I decided that whenever this happened I would just copy the whole airports list. lol
-
EUREKA!
Found it.
AC#8775(.)485,
This was the next number in the sequence and it had a (.) after the 8775. Job done.
But I discovered something I didn't know. The same aircraft numbers can exist in different flight plans. So, for example, Flightplans A and Flightplans B can both have aircraft numbers 100,101,192,103, for example, and be totally different aircraft. A revelation.
And yes, IL88, I was aware of the dublicate numbers not being allowed.
But thanks once again for everyone's inputs.

Will do. Thanks Jorgen.

I’m referring here to 4 aircraft as an example. In each case the first line refers to the Aircraft Ttools entry whilst the second line refers to the aircraft title.
Ttools Aircraft File AC#8771,485,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABP"
Aircraft Config Title Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABP
Ttools Aircraft File AC#8772,485,"FlightFX 727-200 Iberia EC-CID"
Aircraft Config Title FlightFX 727-200 Iberia EC-CID
Ttools Aircraft File AC#8773,485,"Boeing 727-200 Iberia STG3 EFLP EC-CBL"
Aircraft Config Title Boeing 727-200 Iberia STG3 EFLP EC-CBL
Ttools Aircraft File AC#8774,485,"Vistaliners Boeing 727-200 Iberia EC-DCC"
Aircraft Config Title Vistaliners Boeing 727-200 Iberia EC-DCC
I’ve only included these 4 here to demonstrate what is happening.
Having created the 3 TTools files, Aircraft, Airports and Flightplans, I ask AIFP3 to open the flight plans file and I get this error message:
“AC#**** Invalid in a TTools format aircraft fileâ€
First off, what on earth does this mean? I’ve searched and searched but can’t find any reference to this error. Nor can I make any sense of it.
Secondly, I can’t see any problems. The Ttools aircraft entry matches the aircraft title exactly in every case. In all of the 4 examples above I’ve copied and pasted, so there are no typos.
Now here’s where it starts to get interesting:
In the error message shown above, the actual error message reads AC#8774. And it’s just the one.
So I block that aircraft and the associated flight plans with that aircraft number, then start AIFP3 again. I get the same error message but this time for AC#8773.
I block AC#8773 and then I get AC#8772,
And so on.
Can anyone please explain this for me? I’ve created loads of other flight plans and I don’t get this.
Please help me to conserve my sanity.

Aaron, I'm not going to waste any more time with them. There are far too many aircraft out there that work straight out of the box.
-
Yes. mine is the freeware version
-
I've split the aircraft and panel and installed the panel in another aircraft, which crashed with the same error. I haven't tried the iFLY aircraft with another panel, it was really the panel I liked. So I guess it seems to be the panel at fault. I shan't pursue it any further, just find anther panel.
Allan
-
Just installed this aircraft but when I try to fly it I get the "Fatal Error" message and FSX crashes. Doesn't happen with other aircraft.
Any suggestions?
Allan
-
Whilst I thought it couldn't be the panel because the same panel works with other 727's, the aircraft was stable when I changed the panel to tom7271.
The plot thickens.

ATC Stops Transmitting
in FSX General Discussion
Posted
MrZippy, didn't try retuning. Never had to do it in 12 years. But will trty next time.
When I say froze I meant stopped transmitting. As I said, I'll try to retune.
Call sign is 25 because FSX doesn't recognise Aviaco. But I hope I've rectified that.
Will update you.
