Just attempted to modify an addon aircraft cfg file. When I tried to save it I got an access denied error.
-
I haven't done a single thing to my joystick, nor to my sim settings, but it's suddenly working fine. All functions are A OK. I don't know why this could have happened but I appreciate all the inputs from you people. Thank you.

AI Aircraft and airport vehicles keep disappearing and reappearing. Same thig happens to my AI Aircraft textures.
-
AI Virus? What's that?
-
Looks like I've solved the WoA problem. You have to run it in Administrator Mode. I didn't know that.
But haven't solved the AIG issue, though.
-
I realise why the aircraft aren't available. They aren't installed. lol. That's another reason I like WOA, all the aircraft are included.
-
So, I thought I'd try AIG. I chose a number of airlines at random but every one came back with the message, "aircraft not available"
How times change. The MRAI installer is not available. When you consider that I created scores of flight plans myself, in text format, then compiled them using TTools, and now I can't find a way to install any I've downloaded.
-
To answer your 2nd question first, Jorgen, up to the time I paused my simming about 4/5 years ago I used WOA extensively. It was fast and did what it said on the tin. I accept what you're saying aboit AIG and I'll look into it.
But, sometimes, I want, and need older airlines and aircraft.
But yes, I'm using the installer.
So, I start installer.
Select package (still zipped)
Select FSX Path
So FSX Path and Sub Folder are correct.
Agree terms.
Tells me which airline is being installed.
Hit install.
I get the error message "Unhandled Exception Has Occured..........."
When I check details it tells me that the problem appears to be with the aircraft and, in particular, the "Model" file.
Does this help?
-
Need help again.
I'm starting to install flight plans using WOA. But every time I ask it to install I get the "Unhandled Exception Has Occured..........." error message. Why would this be and what to do to cure it?
-
Right, I've done a joystick test. All functions appear to be working. In the sim I've checked my joystick settings. All seem to be normal. Yet, in fight my Left and Forward control work but right and back don't. Two of my buttons work, two don't.

Yes, I seem to remember, a few years ago, having the same issues with departures.
But good news ......... my problem's sorted. Just used GSP NAV. Why that didn't work previously I have no idea, but it's working now.
Thanks for all the inputs.
-
Yes to flight plan. ATC follows the plan on departure,
No to missed instruction. I'm particularly careful about this because I've read of others having the same problem
-
I've seen this mentioned many times but not yet found a solution that works.
I created a flight plan and ATC recognises it, so no problem there.
On departure I followed ATC instruction until it told me to resume own navigation. Seemed to be working fine but later I realised it was a coincidence that my heading was the same as my flight plan. When I got to my first VOR the aircraft started to turn but then just kept turning. Tried this a few times but same thing happened.
Tried GPS on it's own.
Tried GPS NAV
Tried GPS APP
All to no avail. My autopilot is working ok because it cantrols all the other parameters, Speed, Hdg, Flight Level, etc. I mention Hdg because I've even tried GPS HDG (knowing that wasn't going to work)
So, where am I going wrong?
-
Yes, it's in my Norton's quarantine folder. It's what to do about it is the problem I'm having to look into.
-
I think I've figured out what's happened to my sub folders and FSX.cfg. When I did some searches I find that my C:\users\Alan1\.......... is quarantined ????? Now I have to figure out why and what to do to get them back. Microsoft help is no help at all.
-
Top Gunn,
Why does Microsoft make things so bloody difficult. Just started to edit the fsx.cfg file and, horrors, I haven't got one. So I did some searches and find it's probably a hidden file. So I looked to see how to make it visible. And all the well meaning people that have posted methods have all come to zilch. Why? Because for some reason Microsoft sees fit to change things, methinks.
Examples:
One guy says: C:\documents and settings\username\......................... I HAVEN'T GOT A DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS folder
Another guy says: Start, Select Control Panel, Appearance and personalisation.............. I CAN'T DO START, CONTROL PANEL, because when I hit start I haven't got a Control Panel.
So I did a search. Nothing comes up for FSX.cfg.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
The only good thing is, I've managed, by a reoundabout way, to restart in the default flight.
-
Yes, Top Gun. Meant to edit the cfg file.
-
Got all that. Will try them later.
Thanks again
-
10 Years. And cleaning them would not be a problem. But it's odd that 3 switches aren't working, either.
-
10 years.
-
Sorry, I meant NOT working.
-
Tried adjusting my seat height by increasing the first number in the VIEW section of the aircraft.cfg file. But nothing happens.
-
Thanks for that info. No, I understand that I need space on my C: drive. That's why I have the other 2 standard HDD's, where I store all other stuff.

I have a PC Line joystick. it works fine to the left but wont turn the aircraft to the right on the ground. When I check in outside view the control surfaces function when I push the stick to the left but they don't move when I push it to the right.
I checked the settings and they all look to be fine.
It's a 2 axis 4 button joystick and only one of the 3 buttons work. The throttle works fine.
