    Also I've once began to work on the highly missing scenery in FS2004 of Bataa International in Equatorial Guinea (FGBT / BSG).

    Allthough I lost all data for that one in my latest major HDD Crash, I am willing to take on this Project again.
    Allthough I would be needing a lot of help on that, such as real life Pictures of the Terminal complexes and the whole
    Line Up of the Airport.

    This is where I've came so far, befor I experienced my HDD Crash (I should've began redoing the whole thing again, but upon now, there's no motivation for that Project):

    I bet flyinmaninmn over at Avsim could help you. He's the Guru!

    Thanks Tom, yes I was thinking that too. Thats why I just drew a cube as above.

    I'll maybe reinstall sketchup and MCX.

    How'd that work out for you? 🤣

  3. Yes. I too like Sketchup while others do not. I am in the final stages of creating KRNO for FS9 and deeply involved into creation of KSAV for FS9 as well.

    ANYWAY, Once you import the dae file into MCX you must:

    1. Open Material Editor and process/save your textures. Once the textures are saved, move them into your new scenery “texture” folder.
    2. While still in MCX, “Export Object” and save the file to your new scenery “scenery” folder. This will make an MDL file.

    3. In MCX, “Import” the new MDL file you made in step 2.
    4. In MCX, “Export Scenery” and save in your new scenery “scenery” folder. This will a BGL version of your object. PS: Make sure you activated your new scenery in FS9’s scenery library.

    5. Open Library Creator and point to your new BGL file - and process.

    At this point, you can edit your textures you made in Sketchup and save. Just remember to convert them before you try to view in FS9. I like using DXTBMP program and saving them as DXT3. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

    Without necessarily wishing to open a Pandor's Box, I have always been happy to feedback and have done so. Whilst on the subject, what about Neils and/or admins do something about the case where the original uploader is not contactable? This is not a technical problem. This is a management problem - the solution simply requires someone to make a policy decision about this. End rant mode.

    Not to mention I can no longer find a Readme file for any download. Seems to me this new site was a “bare-bones” version with limited capabilities. Perhaps I’m wrong. At any rate, the Readme files were very important and normally included the information such as how to contact the author, etc.

    So they’re only making it available for MSFS?  The only new and updated ‘simulator’? (Many I know don’t regard it as a true flight simulator like many other sims, fs2004 etc.)

    If only all other former FS2004 developers would give their add-ons away for free. I’ve emailed many over the last year or so and none want to as they say they’re still making making money on FS2004 products. Go figure…

    HiFi went into the tank years ago when Chris left. Kind of like Avsim when we lost the founder & very respected Tom Allenswoth.

    First off, Otterspherendit]For those looking for "modern", sfs-midg-phx2020-v1.zip and the associated original files really are a gem. Kind of dates the Simflyers version, which depicts quite a bit of construction happening in the early 2000's.

    Ottersphere, I owe you an apology.When I read your original post I interpreted it as you were inquiring about FS9 version of KPHL, not KPHX. All wonder why you never found a version of KPHX by Shez. I'm truly sorry. That said, the version of KPHL created by Shez is extremely well done.

    Secondly, I see folks mentioning about "sfs-midg-phx2020-v1.zip" authored by someone calling himself "Studio F. Simulations". No clue who he is. Personally I have not downloaded nor installed this update. However, it would have been courteous and respectful of him to have credited my work which he references as "SKYHARBOR2019.ZIP" and "KPHX_2019_UPDATE.ZIP". He credits Mach-1 which is nice. But I received written permission from the authors of Mach-1 before I set out to update the above files he references. Doesn't sound like a big deal. But it took me months to update those textures, etc. Would have been nice to have been mentioned in his credits. M1DG had absolutely nothing to do with the texture, positioning, bgl editing, that this guy credits. This is an excellent example of why freeware authors simply give up.

    Again Ottersphere, sorry I sent you on a witch hunt.

  7. I’ve got 4 versions on my PC all renamed. As I’ve changed, modified and enhanced it. Call it whatever you like. :)

    Anyway, I doubt Microsoft even knows it exists any more.

    I agree. We can refer to it anyway we like!

  8. Yes incredible scenery once again from Greg! A shame the France VFR La Reunion scenery isnt available any more as it would look fantastic I'm sure.

    Awesome job!!

    Sydney, Auckland... wink wink, nudge nudge. :p

    How about offering up some tangible assets. Perhaps he will take the bait. wink wink, nudge nudge :p

  9. Gi'day,

    Thanks Tim.

    Yeah, the penny dropped when I remembered the name was Short Final, not ShortFinal (which is a BIG difference when using search engines).

    Regards,

    Dorian

    There you go. Little research never hurt anyone.

    Glad you found what you were looking for.

  10. Gi'day Christopher,

    Let us know when you reach the 21st or 22nd use (for free).

    As johnhinson says: ït's a "myth" FSNav is free after the trial period is over.

    Personally, I wish it was free ... I missed out purchasing FSNav while it was for sale (heavy sigh! :( ).

    Regards,

    Dorian

    LOL :cool:

  11. And you could compile all three waypoints into a single file, if you eliminated the lines in the middle of the file:

    waypointType="NAMED"

    magvar="2.8"

    waypointRegion="UK"

    waypointIdent="HOMES">

    lat="53.114790"

    lon="-2.212972"

    waypointType="NAMED"

    magvar="2.8"

    waypointRegion="UK"

    waypointIdent="MOWCO">

    Great post Tom!!!!

  12. Graeme,

    I understand your "I am puzzled by your experience". I truly do. In fact, I kind of feel like an idiot regarding the time I've spent trying to get this to work on a 20+ year platform. But I'm telling you I've have literally tried everything.

    So after reading your latest post today, with your very nicely done examples, I tried again. Reason being is because I realized, and appreciated, the time you dedicated to that response. Trying it on your system. And then responding with examples of your success. That meant a lot to me. And yes, it took a good amount of time from whatever you were doing. Thank you.

    So I deleted everything related to the Gahud29. I then re-downloaded it and installed verbatim (again) as Bob Kellogg suggested. I then edited the Panel.Cfg to reflect the last two examples you posted in your latest comment. Still. NOT A DAMN THING CHANGED! Then....... for whatever reason, I decided to move the hud Window entry in my panel file from [Window09] to [Window06] like you have. And, like Bob Kellogg had in his Readme file. Wonders wonders. Now I could move the gauge laterally. Finally. You truly cannot make this stuff up. But it happened as God is my witness. I was finally able to move the damn gauge around like you illustrated. WOW. Almost makes me wonder if I have a virus or something. Whatever............

    So now that I have the ability to move the gauge, I am encountering yet another issue. I have successfully moved the gauge very closely into the position I need it to be. But I cannot get it exactly. If I move the gauge a few mm to the right, where I need it to be, then the furthest right part of the gauge does not display. Its cut off. So I opened the panel file in FSpanel Studio and saw where the gauge part that was cut off in FS9 was extending past the "black" area of [Window06] the hud. So I moved it back into the black area. Saved. Reloaded in FS9. Gauge was fully visible again but left of where I needed it. So went another hour of chnaging the size of the gauge, the black area, etc. etc. without success. :mad::mad::mad::mad: So here is an image of my latest headache. Still want to help me?
