  1. I've gone through all the horrible experiences you guys describe here. The support is just appaling and rather than go for the ultimate solution, which is to reinstall W10 and MSFS, which does not solve my problem, I decided to persevere... One of the problems is the MS Store not keeping up with the fact the game may have been reset and/or uninstalled. This creates a miryad of problems. But simply resetting the MS Store cache helps. This is a very simple thing to do: Win-R and type 'wsreset.exe' - reboot. This will not solve all the problems but only discards one and ensures the store is up-to-date. The next thing, which I think is the main culprit (in my case) is Ntfs Encryption not being set. Using XBOX app to try to download and reinstall MSFS, I got an error message stating that the drive did not support encryption. The way to get past this error is to: Win-R and type 'regedit.exe' and look for the key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem - in there look for NtfsDisableEncryption and set the DWORD value to 0. This got me at the stage where the downloads and the installation of Digital Ownership and MSFS installed and where registered correctly on the MS Store. The above is what got me back in the sim but I can't guarantee this will help others though I hope it will. R.
  2. In my case: 25% full after installing MSFS PDE. I have a 1TB SSD and there are some extra apps in there.
  3. Just an update: After a lot of strange issues with the MS Store not wanting to download it suddenly did and I managed to run the installer again. It would not let me install into the root of the drive I'm using for MSFS so I had to create a directory. It's installed now and I tried a couple of flights. All OK at the moment but I'm not feeling reassured about the MS Store issues as well as the fact I had to reinstall on a subdirectory.
  4. I've managed to download the lot and the installer startet the game for me. I did all the marketplace updates and managed a flight. It seem the reinstallation worked and didn't get things worse as I anticipated. The issue is that the MS Store still thinks it needs to download stuff and give the error Code: 0x803FB107...
  5. Just to add - this is the event viewer report on the CTDs: Faulting application name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Faulting module name: FlightSimulator.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000001e14fed Faulting process ID: 0x2708 Faulting application start time: 0x01d78c6276af76ff Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.18.15.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.18.15.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe Report ID: 4f13dc85-e13c-431d-99c0-7cee4e3909bf Faulting package full name: Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.18.15.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Faulting package-relative application ID: App
  6. Thanks for replying :-) Assisted landing, auto-rudder, etc all turned OFF. It's really as if there was a invisible monkey trying to taxi the plane to parking/gate.
  7. I ran the sim on a laptop and a desktop that meet the required specs. On the desktop it could load the game and ended up on the desktop when the loading was on the yellow husky, before the checking for updates screen. Attemtping to fix this I resorted to reseting the game and find myself downloading the whole thing again. Funny enough, it did not want to download anything until this morning. But then, it suddenly did and I could start the main downloader. When it asked for a drive (I use an SSD for this, which was working great until the CTDs) it would not accept the root folder - so I'm now installing onto a E:\MSFS directory. The laptop seems to be surviving at the moment. I've got no potential fixes to contribute but have heard of people reinstalling the MS Store, removing and reinstalling gamingServices... None of these worked for me. The errors in the CTDs do correspond to other reports on CTDs but that's all I can say. No idea what causes these. I expect that upon finishing the download I will find mysels in CTD land again. (*sigh*). All I can say is that the latest fixes seem to be creating more problems than those they are meant to resolve. Very frustrating. R. The laptop is an HP with a Ryzen 7 w/ 16GB RAM and GTX 1660 graphics w/ 6GB dedicated video memory and it works great...so far. The desktop is an DELL Optiplex 9020 with 16GB RAM, GTX 1650 w/ 4GB.
  8. I started experiencing some really crazy taxing after landing with the latest patches. Just as you finish the landing roll, touching the brakes sends the airplane in an unpredicatable direction - with any aircraft I've tried. It is imposible to regain control as if some AI has taken over and assisted taxing and parking have taken over - AFAIK there is no mention of such a feature in any of the patches. Sometimes it seems to want to go the assinged parking/gate but not using the taxiways at all but all over the countryside, through forests and until it stops after it bumbs against a building. It's super frustrating but...but I seem to have found that not including parking or gate in the FP prevents this from happening. Can anyone confirm this behaviour and possible way to avoid it? Thanks, R.
  9. I don't want to steal this thread but I have the same problem. No matter what I tried I could not get MSFS to load. It never got past the screen prior to the checking for updates (w/yellow small plane). I also tried resetting the game and find myself downloading the game again. I was on the very latest update.
