Assigning AI Parking in FlightPlans

Hi all,

When creating your own (or editing for that matter) flightplans, is there any way to assign aircraft set parking spots (stands/gates) at airports?

I only ask as I've just noticed a passenger flight I created parked on the cargo ramp at its departure airport. Not very realistic.

Kind Regards,

In short (never did it myself).

You don't assign this in the traffic-plan.

You assign the airline to the plane in it's aircraft.cfg file. In each texture section is an entry for it. The airlines all have a 3 letter code. For example DAL for delta air lines.

You then edit the airport and assign parking codes to the gates.

Still, aircraft size takes precedence. A large aircraft wont fit in a small spot. A small one will fit anywhere.

And aircraft with no assignment to an airline will park anywhere, occupy assigned spots, and mess up your system a little.

Some addon airports (freeware too) have the spots assigned already. If you go to an addon and see the planes parked grouped by airline, the designer has put the codes in.

Most WOAI aircraft have codes assigned to the planes. So with the right airport it "just works".

Enjoy!
