stevecoop
I uninstalled Windows Update KB3086255, and I was flying again. Stop windows installing Updates automatically else Windows will download it again. Hope this helps someone.
tgibson_new
Hi, Keep in mind that this will leave your computer slightly more vulnerable to attack - it is a known entry point. arcamp65
I uninstalled FS2004 thinking it was an issue with the game, now I have uninstalled KB3086255 but the Disk 1 still won't autoplay or attempt to load.

Hi Steve, If you just turn off auto updates WU will eventually re-download the KB so you will need to keep an eye for it. A better solution would be to 'hide' the update - see the following thread for detailed info that I provided for another user (posts #9 and #18 are the relevant ones but there is other info in the thread that you may find useful) https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?293089-Sim-won-t-load!/page6 Regards Brian

mike281
stevecoop and Tom, is there any way of getting around uninstalling KB3086255 when i want to use FS9 and then reinstalling it for other online use? Is this something new, or has it always existed. Will AntiVirus, Malwarebytes and SuprAntiSpy software protect my computer if I leave that Update active. I hope that someone at Microsoft is addressing this issue, if possible. Thanks, everyone! Mike B
longbreak754
Mike, Firstly, the Kb fixes a risk that has been known about for years. MS has only just deemed it necessary to fix it. See the following linked thread for more info and a possible workaround if you want to leave the KB installed. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?293089-Sim-won-t-load!
