Places to see or easter eggs

Recommended Posts

I have not used FS2004 a long time, and now I only use Linux as OS.

But I just found a way to get FS2004 working with Wine under Linux, and it run great, only small problems with sound.

Now working on a page with screenshots of included famous places to see, also called easter eggs.

Later I will dig into my old archive of addon scenery.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (on Wine in Linux) :D

Lord Howe Island (LHI) off the coast of New South Wales is a fabulous holiday destinatin. It is absolutely beautiful. From both "reality" and an FS point of view, it is a very challenging flying destination, but that's not the point of this posting.

In 1948, a Catalina crashed at night on LHI. Much of the wreckage is still there - my wife and I walked through the wreckage field only a couple of years ago.

Darren Jackson has a very detailed and very beautiful scenery for LHI, including very good Landclass scenery. He has also modelled the crashed Catalina. His model of the crash is nothing like what the wreckage field looks like now, but, more to the point, I believe that it qualifies as ... an Easter Egg.
