MBKHOU
Watched the DCA snow landing video. I like doing those near zero vis landings using the HGS. Here is an old one I did back about 3+ years ago. It's also using the NGX 600, and I'm doing the ILS to 12R at Houston Hobby. I actually busted the 100 ft minimums I had set just a wee tad, but my confidence was high enough with the HGS view, I wasn't too worried about it. Normally the runway and approach lights are quite bright at Hobby. I had the vis set to the minimum allowed by FSX, which seems was about 1/16 of a mile if I remember right. The vis is much lower than the snowy approach. You don't see much of anything until the point my landing lights start to hit the ground, and the center runway lights are just barely popping into view. I also had light rain set, but it's not a factor, except that the wipers were chirping time clearing my non vision. This approach was totally hand flown the whole way using the HGS. Not using the autopilot at all. This one is about 2.5 minutes or so.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLLSVZEImI0
noahweber
Nice! Made my landing at DCA look like it was a beautiful day. I love that rising runway symbology; I need to remember to activate it on the planes that I use. -Noah http://s6.postimg.org/a9i0d43tt/Capture.jpg
