Signalman1
I'm using UTX 2.1 USA and GEX 2.0 NA. I've noticed these green/brown strips mainly in the southeastern part of the U.S. They don't appear to be the usual urban/rural roads that are normally depicted. They mainly appear in forested areas. When they end at a body of water, i.e. river, they don't continue across the river via a bridge or tunnel(see bottom photo) Anyone know what they are supposed to represent? Thanks. ScatterbrainKid
Can you give us a precise location so we can do a flyover to check them out from various heights and angles, and land near them to take soil samples and geiger counter readings etc? I suspect alien involvement as usual..:)

Signalman1
Affirmative. They are powerline "encasements". They exist in the real world but they are too wide as depicted in FSX. There is a way to significantly reduce their visual impact in FSX and make them more realistic, IMO. (With all credit to "NickN" who provided this tip) You will have to edit your terrain.cfg file (located in the root of FSX) As always, BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL Open and scroll down. Find: // Misc vector types - utility [Texture.201] And in that section, replace the value on this line StripWidthMeters=40 to 20 or 25 // Misc vector types - utility [Texture.202] StripWidthMeters=40 to 20 or 25 http://www.simforums.com/forums/power-line-encasements_topic23661.html
