ViperPilot2
Hello! I created a new Club recently (Club Chachapoya) and added a couple of Sub Topics for different Activities within the Club. But there seems to be no way for any of the Members to post in any of these Topics. Is there a way for them to Post? I have attempted to contact the Site Admins regarding this Issue, to no avail. Please respond with any advice or Instructions. Thanks! Did you ever have a reply? I see Club Chachapoya (CCCP!?) is alive and well and mooting a short challenge in NZ but there's still nothing in the club pages. Is that because members still can't post? Inadvertently giving this a bit of a bump... D

Several of us have sent PM's to the Administrators asking if there's a Feature in the Clubs where Members can both Post and Reply to Threads inside the Club. Right now, only the Club Creator can Post, and there's no mechanism for any Member to either Reply to or create a Post within the Club. Without the Ability for others to Post, the Club space is nothing more than a Billboard. mrzippy
@ViperPilot2 If Nels doesn't come back with an answer, I will attempt to check with the Root Admin at my other site and see what needs to be done to allow topics and replies to topics to take place for members. 1 Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! Founder Nels_Anderson Posted May 11 Founder Share Posted May 11 As club creator you have the ability to choose what features the club has. If you want forums like this, you have to turn that feature on. So far from what I've seen the only thing you've done is create some static pages. Go to your club and click on "Manage Club". This lets you choose what features you want the club to have. Message forums like this are called "topics". Invision has online documentation for stuff like this, though it requires some searching. This section on clubs might be helpful to you: https://invisioncommunity.com/4guides/how-to-use-ips-community-suite/managing-your-community/using-clubs-r306/ 2

Under "Edit Club Settings" there are five options; Name, Description, choose a Club Icon, choose who can see the Club, and a Field for the Rules. Nowhere in this Pull Down Menu does it give you the Option to "turn on" Features such as 'Members can Reply to Topics' or anything of that nature. The Link to the Online Documentation shows Options that the Site Administrator needs to Enable, not the Club Creator. For instance, there are references and options for "Paid Clubs", which don't exist on this Site and Global Settings for the Administrator to set. Just looking through some of the other clubs.....great places for spammers to dump in their I used the "Contact Us" Link at the bottom of the Home Page. Look... not trying to be a PITA here; if the functionality in the Club setting cannot be changed easily I understand, and we'll stick with what we've been doing. Just thought it would be nice to use the Club as a different Venue to promote some cross platform participation as with our previous Challenges is all... 1 "I created the Little Black Book to keep myself from getting killed..." -- Captain Elrey Borge Jeppesen AMD 1.9GB/8GB RAM/AMD VISION 1GB GPU/500 GB HDD/WIN 7 PRO 64/FS9 CFS CFS2

OK, that's a different problem then. I was just going by what features the documentation said were supposed to be there. It sounds like there are admin settings in addition that control what options the the club creator can set. I'll do a little more looking in the Invision docs and see if I can find how that works.

Sirrus
"An open club...?" Wasn't this the group that agreed "We seem to like the informality. We will not produce a rules or bylaws set (for that matter,"? I quote from the club 2024 general meeting in Chicago. So having to join to read what these guys say, does not fit my description of "open". So going to the club page, we are met with a list of rules and regulations. Personally I have no idea what PG-13, NC-13 (could be a starship in Startrek for all I know!) R or soft X mean. And "open"...no not really
