How to edit the max speed an aircraft can handle

This isn't the correct area, but I'm not allowed to post in the correct area.

 

I want to increase the speed my aircraft can fly safely at.  I cannot find the parameters in the .cfg files to do this.

 

Is it possible to edit those speeds safely, or is it a complicated process tied to the actual geometry of the plane and not just flight tuning?

If your chosen aircraft has a Flight_Model.cfg you can change the "parasite_drag_scalar=" entry in the [FLIGHT_TUNING] section from 1 to 0.5 for example. The plane will fly faster as a result.

However, the plane may have a redline on the airspeed gauge which may not be editable (especially if it's a glass cockpit) so you'll still get an overspeed warning.
