I recently learned, from an aircraft mechanic, one reason most airplanes are white is for ease of maintenance - every scratch, ding, fluid leak, or smoke stain shows up immediately. White can be seen further than any other color. When smoking was allowed on aircraft, tar smears could easily be seen where any skin rivets were loosening. Always Aviate, then Navigate, then Communicate. And never be low on Fuel, Altitude, Airspeed, or Ideas.
