VFR Sectional Series: Airports is the start of a series covering the basics of VFR Sectionals. Using a real sectional, types of airports, towered and non-towered, and information blocks around airports will be decoded and explained with a shallow dive into the Chart Supplement to uncover more information about an airport than what is shown on a sectional. If you are a student pilot, private pilot, or serious flight simulator user, this video will help cover the basics of a VFR sectional chart.

Nicely done. I might suggest, though, that CTAF is Common Traffic, not Tower.

Where did I say Tower when discussing CTAF? I went back to listen and stated the tower frequency was used for CTAF when the tower is closed and when CTAF was shown on screen it says common traffic advisory frequency. Maybe I missed something?

I guess my ears are faulty, but I thought I heard Common Tower Advisory Frequency, but I just went back and listened again, and you did say Traffic. Apologies for my hearing problem. I thought that was a strange mistake, but it's my mistake both times when I listened at first, not yours. I've noticed recently that I occasionally mis-hear things now, so perhaps it's old age- same happens with hearing aids, so it's not the ears themselves.

 

Again, sorry I heard wrong...
