hornetdriver25
Hey, Is there a place that I can get oil rigs to place with the object placement tool in fsx or is there a scenery pack for the Gulf of Mexico that does not have default ones? I can place the default ones, but I am looking for a more realistic one. System specs: AMD FTX 6300 six core processor 3.5 GHz, Video card Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB on board, Windows 8.1 64 bit and 1 TB on hard drive. aircav1970
Go to www.hovercontrol.com under FSX Scenery you will find an add-on from Chris Gaeth called GoM_Fun_Rigs_FSX. It contains 2300 landable oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico.Hope this helps.

Rupert
Thanks! As an old chopper jockey I've used several default pads in various areas. But wasn't aware they included oil rigs in the box as well. I'll have to start looking for them. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Rupert
I just landed on two rigs. The one mentioned in the North Sea & one in the Gulf of Mexico. I thought both were pretty well represented. However I was a little surprised that neither showed up on the GPS. I know rigs can "move." But I would have thought the GPS would show these that came in the box. I get GPS updates in RW on a regular basis when roads and buildings are renamed or moved. I've not flown RW to an oil rig. But I assume those that do have updated GPS units to show where they are. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
BASys
Hi Folks hornetdriver25 re: FS-ODG - I can't figure out how to download those rigs, can you help me? ODG packages are available to members only. For access, you need to sign up to the ODG forum. ODG's platforms have appropriate navaids, plus helicopter exclusive routes, as per IRL, all of which are displayed in the GPS. And for the Sikorsky look in the library, also many types. Unfortunately nobody's released a Sikorsky S-92, since Herve Devred's FS2002 version.
