ster100
I sometimes want to install scenery in fs2020. But what are the rules? Just in the community folder? Or...
NFM
As far as I am concerned, yes. Just paste the folder into your community folder. Should work for most of the sceneries. If you have to install it differently, it is probably said somewhere. davidc2
If the devolper needs it to go to a specfic location, other then the Community Folder, hopefully the installer will put it where it needs to go. Most of the time, just copy and paste it into the Community Folder and you should be good to go Windows 10 Pro, 32 gigs DDR4 RAM, Nvidia GForce RTX 3070, Intel I7 10700 running at 3.8, with Noctua NH-L9x65, Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler-HP Reverb G2 for Virtual Reality
grimsel
On top of what has been said before: In the early days of MSFS there were reports, that having several modellib.bgl files under the community folder might lead to instabilities. Ever since then I followed the rule to check the modellib.bgl file name (general under ...\community\add-on-scenery-directory\scenery\mycompany) and rename it to something unique, then edit the corresponding entry in the layout.json file (under ...\community\add-on-scenery-directory) so that it reflects the name change I made (add-on-scenery-directory as placeholder for the real add-on name). I do not know, whether this still valid or whether one of the SUs which were released since then have changed something with respect to this issue - but if it does not help to maintain a stable system, it does at least not do any harm. 1 AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 32Gb RAM, NVidia Geforce RTX 2600, 3 Monitors (two 1280 x 1024, one 1920 x 1080), SSD 1000 GB and SSD 500 GB
