Installing MS FSX SP1 and 2

I am told I have to install SP1 and SP2 to add on certain aircraft etc. However when I go to load SP1 they ask me to re install FSX . My FSX Steam edition is on disks but my current computer  has no disk facility. The old one has been destroyed. Any suggestions as to how I get round this problem?

FSX Steam is a download from the Steam Store.  How is yours on disc?  FSX-SE contains Acceleration and does not need SP1 and SP2.  Is there a verson of FSX now on your computer, if so what is it?

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Mrzippy is correct and so it sounds like you're not really clear on what exactly you have there.

Here's a thought...how much is your time worth? Currently a brand new copy of FSX Steam is about $25 and with that you get all the latest upgrades and don't need to deal with SP1 and SP2. Maybe spending $25 is a better solution that taking all the time it will take to figure out and install what you have now.
