anyone still using fs98?

Hi thanks for all the help, but this is a nightmare. I'm stuck on the first option (And the other ones about re-registering don't seem to be the problem and have other issues for me as well).

It says locate ActiveX Installer (Axinstsv) but in services.smc there's a huge list and there doesn't seem to be anything similar.

 

 

 

 

Could you tell where I should look for that installer (or another option fo find it?).

Since this seems to be a system problem rather than an FS issue, you might consider BleepingComputer.com or https://www.tenforums.com/

(I've used the former often, and the sevenforums version of the latter).

I have a friend who has been using FS98 for ages.  He travels a lot and FS98, a complete install with tons of scenery and extra aircraft, easily fits on a small flashdrive, and will even run from that drive on his modern laptop (in an XP VM under Win10).

If you send the whole of all files FS98 Scenery, Miscellaneus, Panels, and Aircraft in FlightSim.Com, it is OK.

Happened again while I downloading New Zealand 98 which contains two files; scenery and texture. Windows Defender found virus in the files that I mentioned. Just to wait weeks to see if that become normal in FlightSim.Com downloading open. I cannot do more.

I use Windows 10 64-bit and FS98 doesn't work properly, despite seeming to install OK. However, both FS95, FS2000 and FS2002 all work very well on Windows 10. Even though it is possible to use FS98 in a virtual environment like VMWare, or even in DosBox-X (via installation of Windows 98), why bother if most addons for FS98 work in FS95 and/or FS2000.
